Product Overview
The Mi Door and Window Sensor 2 is designed for installation on doors, windows, drawers, and similar openings. It detects the proximity and separation of the sensor and its paired magnet. This allows for real-time monitoring of whether doors or windows are open or closed. Additionally, an integrated light sensor measures the ambient light intensity of the surrounding environment.
Key features include low power consumption, tool-free installation, and readiness for immediate use.
Note: This product is intended for indoor use only and requires connection to a Bluetooth gateway for smart control capabilities.
Components:
- 1. Induction Lens: Contains a built-in status indicator and light sensor.
- 2. Reset Button: Press briefly to wake up the Bluetooth connection. Press and hold for 3 seconds to reset or confirm adding the device.
- 3. Insulating Sheet: This sheet should be torn off before use to activate the sensor.
Connecting with Mi Home/Xiaomi Home App
This product is compatible with the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app. Use the app to control your device and integrate it with other smart home devices.
To download and install the app, search for "Mi Home/Xiaomi Home" in your device's app store. If the app is already installed, scanning the QR code (QR codes are excluded from this document) will direct you to the connection setup page.
* The app is referred to as Xiaomi Home app in Europe (except Russia). The name displayed on your device should be considered the default.
Adding a Device
- Open the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app and sign in to your account.
- Tap the '+' icon in the top right corner of the homepage to enter the Add device page.
- On the Add device page, tap the scan icon (typically in the top right corner) and follow the on-screen instructions to complete adding the device and begin using it.
Note: If the product's QR code cannot be scanned, you can search for the product name "Mi Door and Window Sensor 2" within the app to complete the adding process. If the device cannot be added, try again by holding your phone as close to the sensor as possible.
Please install and secure the device once it has been successfully added.

Smart Scenes
This product can be used to create smart scenes through the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app, enabling connections with other smart devices.
Example of a smart scene:
When a door is opened at night, the door and window sensor triggers, and the living room light turns on automatically.

For additional connection functions, tap the '+' icon on the homepage in the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app. Select the device as a trigger condition to create smart connection scenes tailored to your specific scenarios.
Installation
- Apply the adhesive stickers to the inside bottom grooves of the sensor and the magnet, respectively. Tear off the protective film from the adhesive stickers before installation.
- Align the marks on the side of the sensor unit and the side of the magnet as closely as possible during installation.
- Attach the sensor to the fixed side and the magnet to the movable side of the area that opens and closes (e.g., door frame and door). It is recommended to install the sensor on the fixed surface and the magnet on the movable surface. Ensure the clearance between the two components is less than 18 mm when the door or window is closed.

Note: The surface to which the adhesive sticker is applied must be clean and dry. Please avoid dropping the sensor during installation, as this may easily damage its body. The installation clearance can be measured using a scale, if available on the back of the user manual.
Battery Replacement
- Place your thumb in the groove of the sensor's body and lift the body upward to separate it from the back cover.
- Insert a pin or a similar tool into the designated hole and lift the battery upward to remove it.
- Place the CR2032 battery into the battery slot, ensuring the positive terminal (+) faces upwards.
- Align the sensor body with the back cover and firmly press it to snap it securely into place.
