Model: 2242-222, 2242-422, 2242-442, 2242-522

Good Choice

✔️ The Hub enables you to set up, control, and manage your INSTEON devices from either your smartphone/tablet or PC.

Getting Started

Connect the Hub to your router using only the included Ethernet cable. Then, connect the Hub to a wall outlet (not a power strip).

A diagram illustrates connecting the INSTEON Hub to a WiFi router using an Ethernet cable. The Hub is shown connected to the router, and the router is connected to a wall outlet, implying power. Text indicates that plugging the Hub directly into an outlet provides the greatest signal range and reliability.

What you'll need:

Option 1: Use Hub with Smartphone/Tablet

  1. Connect your smartphone/tablet to your router via WiFi.
  2. Download the INSTEON for Hub app.
  3. Launch the app and follow the onscreen instructions.

What you'll need:

Option 2: Use Hub with INSTEON Compatible Software

Do not use this option if you are using or plan to use the Hub with the INSTEON for Hub app.

  1. Install INSTEON compatible software.
  2. Follow software instructions for adding the Hub as a computer interface.

What you'll need:

Mount Hub on Wall

Simply screw two screws (INSTEON recommends using #6 drywall screws) through the marks in the drawing below (leaving the head of the screw about 1½ inches from the wall) and hang the Hub on the screws. You can then tear off this sheet.

A diagram shows the back of the INSTEON Hub with two mounting holes. It illustrates how to mount the Hub on a wall by screwing two screws into the wall, leaving the heads slightly protruding, and then hanging the Hub on these screws. Dimensions for screw placement are indicated as 166mm (6.534 inches) apart. A detail shows a screw head with a gap of approximately 6.35mm (0.25 inches) from the wall for proper mounting.
