EXTENDING RANGE AND BATTERY LIFE
Notice: Ride within limitations to prevent motor overheating or damage from excessive loading. Pedal assist helps on hills and acceleration. Avoid sudden starts/stops. Accelerate slowly.
If unusual sounds or odors occur, unplug immediately and contact PUCKIPUPPY customer service.
Brakes / Shock Absorption
Brakes
PUCKIPUPPY E-Bike uses disc brakes. Applying brake levers creates friction against the disc to slow the wheel. For rapid stops, apply more pressure. The right lever controls the front brake, and the left controls the rear. Apply the rear brake before and while applying the front brake. Applying only the front brake at high speeds can cause ejection from the saddle. Apply even pressure to both levers. Disc brakes may make a slight scraping noise when wheels turn without braking applied; this is normal.
Ensure brake levers do not touch the handlebar when fully applied. Adjust by increasing cable tension. Fine-tune brakes using the barrel adjuster on the lever. If issues persist, consult a bicycle mechanic.
WARNING: Disc brake rotors can get hot. Do not touch immediately after use. Wet weather causes slipping; brake earlier and avoid sudden stops.
Shock Absorption
The shock absorption function absorbs shocks and is adjustable via a switch to suit preferences. Increase intensity on uneven roads or hillsides to reduce shock.
Ebike Care Guide
For safe riding, ensure proper maintenance. Follow these guidelines and consult a certified Ebike mechanic regularly.
- Maintain batteries by keeping them fully charged when not in use.
- Never immerse the bike or components in water, as it can damage the electrical system.
- Periodically check wiring and connectors for damage and security.
- Clean the frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry.
- Store under shelter; avoid rain or corrosive materials. If exposed to wet conditions, dry thoroughly and apply anti-rust treatment to the chain and unpainted surfaces.
- Riding in coastal areas exposes the bike to salt. Wash frequently and apply anti-rust treatment to unpainted parts.
- If hub or bottom bracket bearings submerged in water, they need re-greasing to prevent deterioration.
- For scratched or chipped paint on metal, use touch-up paint or clear nail polish to prevent rust.
- Regularly clean and lubricate moving parts, tighten components, and adjust as needed.
- Damage from corrosion is not covered by warranty; care for your bike to prevent it and extend its life.
