The stopwatch measures elapsed time up to 59 minutes and 59.99 seconds with an accuracy of 1 second.

Measuring Elapsed Time

Press A to start, press A again to stop. Press B to reset.

Measuring Split Times

Press A to start. Press B to display a split time. Press B again to resume the stopwatch. Press A to stop the stopwatch. Press B to reset.

Measuring Two Finish Times

Press A to start. The first runner finishes, press B to display their time. The second runner finishes, press B again to display their time. Press A to stop the stopwatch. Press B to reset.

Note: The stopwatch will automatically stop counting after 60 minutes.

Caution: Do not operate the stopwatch with the crown pulled out.

Setting the Time

When the second hand reaches the 12 o'clock position, pull the crown out to the second click.

Turn the crown to set the time.

Note: Be sure to set the time correctly for AM/PM. To set the time, advance the minute hand 4-5 minutes past the desired time, then turn it back to the correct time.

Push the crown back in when all hands are in their correct positions.

Caution: Timekeeping stops when the crown is pulled out. Set the time after performing the above steps.

Changing the Day Indicator

Pull the crown out to the first click.

Turn the crown to set the day.

Push the crown back in.

Note: The day indicator is designed for months with 31 days. For shorter months, manual adjustment is required. Avoid changing the day indicator between 9 PM and 1 AM, as this may prevent the day from changing correctly at midnight.

Setting Stopwatch Hands to Zero

If the stopwatch hands do not return to the zero position after resetting:

  1. Pull the crown out to the second click.
  2. Use buttons B (clockwise) and A (counter-clockwise) to move the stopwatch second and minute hands to the 12 o'clock position.
  3. Pressing and holding either button will cause the stopwatch second hand to move rapidly until the button is released.
  4. The stopwatch minute and second hands are synchronized.
  5. Push the crown back in.

Backlight

Press and hold button 1 to turn on the backlight.

Note: The backlight stays on while button 1 is pressed. It turns off approximately 4 seconds after button 1 is released.

Backlight Precautions

  • The backlight may be difficult to see in direct sunlight.
  • Frequent use of the backlight will reduce battery life.

Head Operation (Screw-Lock Crown)

Some water-resistant models (100m, 200m) are equipped with a screw-lock crown. To perform an operation, loosen the crown by turning it towards you, then pull it out. Do not apply excessive force when pulling out the crown.

The watch loses its water resistance if the crown is not locked. After performing an operation, screw the crown back in until it is tight.

[Description of illustration: Crown being loosened and pulled out, then screwed back in]

Precautions

Water Resistance

Watches with "WATER RESIST" or "WATER RESISTANT" on the case back are subject to the following:

Marking on Case BackWater Resistance for Daily UseWater Resistance for Daily UseEnhanced Water Resistance for Daily UseEnhanced Water Resistance for Daily Use
(No "BAR" indication)5 BAR10 BAR20 BAR
Washing hands, rainYesYesYesYes
Water-related work, swimmingNoYesYesYes
WindsurfingNoNoYesYes
Skin divingNoNoYesYes

Note: Do not use the watch for skin diving with scuba gear or other types of diving that require air tanks.

Watches without "WATER RESIST" or "WATER RESISTANT" on the case back are not protected against sweat. Avoid using such watches in conditions where they will be exposed to heavy sweat, moisture, or direct water splashes.

Even with water-resistant watches, do not press buttons or turn the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.

Avoid wearing watches in baths or places where soap, shampoo, etc., are used, as this can reduce water resistance.

Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to seawater.

To maintain water resistance, have the gaskets replaced periodically (approximately once every two to three years).

Battery replacement requires special tools and expertise. Contact a CASIO authorized service center for battery replacement. They can also check the watch's water resistance after replacement.

Avoid swimming or engaging in water activities with watches that have leather straps.

Condensation may form on the inside of the glass if the watch is exposed to a sudden drop in temperature. If the condensation disappears relatively quickly, the watch is functioning normally. If it does not disappear or if water has entered the watch, submit it for repair immediately.

Prolonged exposure to water inside the watch can damage electronic components, mechanical parts, and the watch face.

Strap

Excessive tightening of the strap can cause sweating and prevent air circulation, potentially leading to skin irritation. Do not overtighten the strap. A finger should be able to fit between the strap and your wrist.

Wear and tear, or corrosion of the strap (bracelet) can cause it to break, leading to the watch falling off and being lost. Take care of the strap and keep it clean. If you notice any damage, discoloration, loosening, or other issues, contact the store where you purchased the watch or a CASIO authorized service center for inspection, repair, or replacement. Fees may apply for repair and replacement.

Temperature

Do not leave the watch on a car dashboard, near a heater, or in any other location where temperatures may become very high. Do not leave the watch in locations where temperatures may become very low. High or low temperatures can cause the watch to run slow, fast, stop, or exhibit other operational problems.

Shocks

This watch is designed to withstand shocks encountered during normal daily use and light activities like playing catch or tennis. However, dropping the watch or subjecting it to strong impacts can disrupt its operation. Watches designed for shock resistance (G-SHOCK, Baby-G, G-ms) can be worn during activities involving strong vibration, such as operating a chainsaw, or during strenuous sports like motocross.

Magnetic Field

In analog and combination (analog-digital) watches, hands are moved by magnetic drive. Magnetic fields from devices like speakers, magnetic necklaces, or mobile phones can cause the watch to run slow, fast, or stop, leading to inaccurate time display.

Electrostatic Discharge

Exposure to strong electrostatic discharge can cause incorrect time display. It can also damage electronic components.

Chemical Products

Avoid contact with thinners, gasoline, solvents, cleaning agents, nail polish, perfumes, and other chemicals containing these components. Contact can cause discoloration or damage to the watch case, resin strap, leather strap, or other parts.

Storage

If you plan to store the watch for an extended period, clean off all dirt, sweat, and moisture, and store it in a cool, dry place.

Polymer Parts

Prolonged contact with other items or storage with other items while damp can cause discoloration of polymer watch parts to match the color of those items. Ensure the watch is completely dry before storage and check that it is not in contact with other items.

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (UV radiation) or failure to remove dirt can cause discoloration.

Friction on colored parts under certain conditions (frequent external force, prolonged contact, impact, etc.) can cause discoloration.

If the strap has printed numbers, vigorous rubbing of the printed area may cause discoloration.

Failure to remove dirt from the watch can cause fluorescent coating to fade. Wash off dirt with water and dry the watch as soon as possible.

Sweat and dirt, combined with prolonged exposure to high temperatures, can cause discoloration of translucent polymer parts.

Contact a CASIO authorized service center for replacement of polymer parts. Fees may apply.

Leather Straps

Prolonged contact with other items or storage with other items while damp can cause leather straps to discolor to match the color of those items. Ensure the watch is completely dry before storage and check that it is not in contact with other items.

Prolonged exposure of leather straps to direct sunlight (UV radiation) or failure to remove dirt can cause discoloration.

Note: Friction or dirt on leather or synthetic leather straps can cause them to stain and discolor.

Metal Parts

Failure to remove dirt from the bracelet can cause rust, even if it is made of stainless steel or plated. If the watch is exposed to sweat or water, wipe it thoroughly with a soft absorbent cloth and let it dry in a well-ventilated area.

To clean the bracelet, use a soft toothbrush or similar item dipped in a weak aqueous solution of mild neutral detergent. Try to prevent the solution from getting onto the watch case.

Anti-Bacterial/Odor Strap

An anti-bacterial/odor strap prevents odor caused by sweat-generating bacteria, ensuring high comfort and hygiene. Keep the strap clean for maximum effectiveness. Remove dirt, sweat, and moisture with a soft absorbent cloth. While the strap suppresses the growth of microorganisms and bacteria, it does not prevent allergic skin reactions or rashes.

CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any loss or damage incurred by you or any third party resulting from the use of this product or its malfunction.

User Maintenance

Watch Care

Dirt or rust on the case or bracelet can stain clothing, cause skin irritation, and even affect the watch's operation. Keep the case and strap clean at all times. Watches that have not been rinsed of seawater are highly susceptible to rust.

Occasionally, dirty spots may appear on the surface of resin straps. These do not affect the condition of your skin or clothing. Wipe the strap with a cloth to remove the spots.

Keep leather straps clean by wiping them with a dry cloth. Over time, both resin and leather straps will wear out and crack with normal daily use.

If a strap cracks or wears significantly, it must be replaced. Contact the store where you purchased the watch or a CASIO authorized service center for strap replacement. Fees may apply, even during the warranty period.

Remember that watches, like clothing, are in contact with your skin. Therefore, keep your watch clean at all times. Remove dirt, sweat, water, and foreign matter from the case and strap with a soft absorbent cloth.

Consequences of Poor Watch Care

Rust

Despite the high corrosion resistance of stainless steel, rust can form on watches from which dirt has not been removed. The absence of contact between metal and oxygen due to dirt causes the oxide layer on the metal surface to break down, leading to rust formation.

Even if the metal surface appears clean, sweat and rust in crevices can stain clothing, cause skin irritation, and affect watch operation.

Premature Wear

Failure to remove sweat and water from resin straps, or storing them in humid locations, can lead to premature wear, cracking, and tearing.

Skin Irritation

Individuals with sensitive skin or those in poor physical condition may experience skin irritation while wearing the watch. Such individuals should pay particular attention to keeping leather or resin straps clean, or consider switching to a metal bracelet. If a rash or other skin irritation occurs, remove the watch immediately and consult a skin care specialist.

Battery Replacement

Leave battery replacement to the store where you purchased the watch or a CASIO authorized service center.

Batteries should only be replaced with the type specified in this manual. Using a different type of battery may cause the watch to malfunction.

When having batteries replaced, also request a check of the watch's water resistance. Note that a separate fee may apply for the water resistance check.

Initial Batteries

The batteries included with the watch at the time of purchase are for testing the watch's functions and performance. These batteries may discharge before reaching their normal specified lifespan. Note that fees may apply for replacing these initial batteries, even during the warranty period.

Low Battery Power

Low battery power is indicated by significant time loss, dim display, or no display. Continued operation with low battery power can lead to malfunction. Replace batteries as soon as possible.
