Components
Before starting, ensure all components are present:
- A Kogan 75" Mini-LED QLED 4K Smart AI Google TV
- B Remote control
- C Stand (x2)
- D M4 x 20 mm screw (x4)
- E Quick-start guide
- F Warranty card
Not Included: Phillips head screwdriver, antenna cable, broadband internet connection.
Remote Control Overview
The remote control features the following buttons:
- Power [power-symbol]: Press to enter or exit standby mode.
- Source: Displays the list of input source channels.
- LIST: Opens the List menu.
- Account [user-icon]: Switch account.
- Info [info-icon]: Displays the current program information.
- Direction buttons [up-arrow]/[down-arrow]/[left-arrow]/[right-arrow]: Navigate menus and settings.
- Google Assistant [voice-icon]: Launch the built-in virtual assistant for voice commands.
- Back [back-arrow]: Return to the previous menu.
- Dashboard [dashboard-icon]: Contains user account, settings, input source list, weather panel, image settings, notifications, etc.
- Quick Menu [menu-icon]: Display TV options with adjustable settings.
- OK [ok-button]: Select the current item or confirm selection. Displays Channel list in DTV mode.
- Home [home-icon]: Access the home page.
- Electronic Program Guide [guide-icon]: DTV mode.
Additional remote functions:
- Program [program-icon]: Scroll channels.
- Volume [volume-icon]: Adjust volume up or down.
- Mute [mute-icon]: Toggle sound on/off.
- NETFLIX [netflix-icon]: Open the Netflix app homepage.
- Prime Video [prime-video-icon]: Open the Prime Video app homepage.
- YouTube [youtube-icon]: Open the YouTube app homepage.
- Apps [apps-icon]: Show all installed apps.
- Free hotkey [hotkey-icon]: Customize as app shortcuts or system function shortcuts.
- USB [usb-icon]: Press to switch to the USB source.
- Live TV [live-tv-icon]: Access live TV channels.
- Solar panels [solar-icon]: Located on the remote for charging.
- USB-C Charging Port [usb-c-icon]: Port for charging the remote.
Assembly and Installation
Before You Get Started: Spread cushioning flat to lay the TV on to prevent damage.
- How to charge the remote control's solar panels:
- Tear off the protective film on the solar panel before use. Failure to do so may affect charging efficiency.
- For first-time use, charge the remote control using a USB-C (5V/2A) charger.
- When not in use, keep the remote controller facing upward to allow the solar panel to charge it.
- Stand Assembly:
- Attach the stands to the base of the TV, ensuring the 'L' and 'R' markings on the TV and stands match.
- Insert two 20mm screws (D) for each stand and tighten using a Phillips head screwdriver (not supplied).
- Connect to Antenna:
- Connect an antenna cable (not supplied) to the 'ANT' input port at the back of the TV.
- Ensure the antenna cable is connected to a working antenna, either via a wall socket or directly.
- Turning TV On:
- Plug the power cord into a suitable power outlet.
- Press the POWER [power-symbol] button on the remote control, aiming at the sensor on the front of the TV. Alternatively, use the power button on the lower side of the TV's back panel.
Turning TV Off:
- Press the POWER [power-symbol] button on the remote control to enter standby mode.
- To power down completely, unplug the power cord from the outlet.
- Avoid leaving the TV in standby mode for extended periods. If not using the TV for a long time, unplug it from both the power outlet and the aerial.
First Time Setup
Upon first turning on the TV, a 'Welcome' screen will appear. Use the direction buttons and OK button to navigate the setup options:
- Language: Select your preferred menu language.
- TV Mode: Choose 'Home mode' for efficient home use or 'Retail mode' for store demos.
- Wi-Fi Network: The TV will scan for wireless networks. Ensure your Wi-Fi password is ready and follow prompts to connect. For wired connection, insert an Ethernet cable (not supplied) into the LAN input port (4a) at the back of the TV.
- Google Account: Sign in to access streaming apps, personalized recommendations, Google Assistant, voice control, and more.
- Terms of Service: Accept the Google Terms of Service to enhance your experience.
- Search across all your TV apps: Grant permission for Google Assistant to find content across all your TV apps.
- Region or Country Selection: Use direction buttons to select your region/country and press OK to confirm.
- Remote & Accessories: Pair the Bluetooth remote control by following on-screen prompts to enable voice commands via Google Assistant.
Home Page
The home page displays various content and features:
- 1 Dashboard: Access user account, settings, input sources, weather, image settings, notifications, etc.
- 2 Text search: Manually search for TV apps.
- 3 For you: Recommendations for new episodes, shows to resume, and top picks.
- 4 Live: Google-recommended TV channel content.
- 5 Notification: Displays advertisements, new arrivals, warnings, and system messages.
- 6 Apps: Access the App Centre for installed apps. Free-to-air channels are available under 'Live TV'.
- 7 Library: View records and manage your watch list.
Note: The home page layout may change dynamically with launcher updates. Images are for reference only.
Basic Troubleshooting
- Poor picture and sound quality: Try a different channel, adjust the antenna, or check all connections.
- No picture or sound: Try another channel, press TV/AV, ensure the TV is plugged in, and check the antenna connection.
- Low sound volume: Check external speaker settings, adjust TV volume, check another channel/input, and ensure MUTE is off.
- No colour/wrong colour/tints: Ensure the broadcast is in colour, adjust HUE and Color Tuner in the picture menu.
- Picture rolls vertically: Check all connections.
- Blurred/snowy picture, distorted sound: Check antenna direction, location, and connections. Indoor antennas may cause poor signal.
- Remote control malfunctions: Ensure the remote is within range, remove obstructions between the remote and TV sensor, and check the TV power cord.
- Image not centred: Adjust horizontal and vertical position in settings.
- "No Signal" on HDMI: Test with a different HDMI cable/port, try a different device, or perform a factory reset.
