Using Your Personal Steam Inhaler

  1. Fully unravel the power cord to prevent overheating and fire hazards. DO NOT use with extension cords or power strips. Place the inhaler on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Unlock the Top Housing by twisting it counter-clockwise. Align the arrow on the Top Housing with the unlock symbol on the Base. Lift the Top Housing straight up.
  3. Fill the Water Reservoir with up to 2.5 tablespoons (40 mL) of cool tap water. DO NOT fill above the Heating Element. Use water only. DO NOT add essential oils, medications, or inhalant liquids.
  4. Place the Top Housing onto the Base and twist clockwise to lock. You will feel a click, and the arrow on the Top Housing will align with the lock symbol on the Base.
  5. Place the Mask on the Top Housing and gently push down to ensure it is secure.
  6. Connect the cord to an electrical outlet. DO NOT use extension cords or power strips. Press the On/Off Switch to the ON position; the Indicator Light will illuminate.
  7. The Steam Inhaler will take approximately 6 minutes to begin producing steam. Be cautious, as the Water Reservoir and water will become hot.
  8. Place your face over the Mask (do not rest your face on the mask). Breathe normally through your nose and mouth, inhaling steam into your nasal and throat passages. Continue treatment for five to fifteen minutes.

Adjusting Steam Intensity:

When treatment is complete, move the Power Switch to the OFF position. The Indicator Light will go out. Disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet. Allow the appliance to cool for at least 20 minutes before moving or refilling (see Care and Cleaning section). DO NOT operate when empty.

NOTE: The Steam Inhaler will automatically shut off when water runs out. If this happens, turn the Power Switch to OFF and unplug the unit.

Using Vicks VapoPads

Your Vicks Steam Inhaler can be used with Vicks VapoPads for up to 8 hours of soothing vapors. A free menthol VapoPad sample is included.

To use with scent pads, ensure the unit is OFF and follow these instructions:

  1. Gently slide out the VapoPad Tray from the back of the Top Housing. Do not attempt to detach the tray.
  2. Open the VapoPad sachet by tearing the notch. Do not touch the pad with hands. If touched, avoid rubbing face or eyes.
  3. Insert the Vicks VapoPad with the angled end at the front of the tray. Up to two pads can be inserted. Push the VapoPad Tray back in to close.
  4. Discard the VapoPad when it is dry and no longer providing scent.

NOTE: DO NOT operate if the VapoPad Tray is missing or not secured.

This Steam Inhaler (with or without VapoPads) is not recommended for use by children.

VapoPads Precautions:
