Exterior Mirrors
Caution: Objects reflected in the exterior mirrors may appear farther away than they actually are.
Mirror Adjustment
The exterior mirrors can be adjusted using the control located on the driver's door panel. The control allows for adjustment of the mirror angle up, down, left, or right.
Note: Up to three different sets of exterior mirror positions can be saved and recalled. Refer to the DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION MEMORY section on page 37.
When subsequently adjusting the mirror positions, the new settings can be saved along with the current seat and steering wheel positions, overwriting previously saved adjustments.
- Press the memory save button (M) on the side of the seat switch unit.
- Within seven seconds, press the preset memory button (1, 2, or 3) corresponding to the current seat position.
The new adjustments will be saved to the selected preset memory button.
- To select the left or right mirror, move the lower switch (2) to the left or right, respectively.
- With the starter switch in the second position, press the desired arrow on the mirror adjuster (1) to tilt the mirror up, down, left, or right.
The exterior mirrors are equipped with heating elements to remove ice and moisture. These elements activate automatically based on the outside temperature when the starter switch is in the second position.
Mirror Housing Folding
The design of the exterior mirrors allows them to fold forward or backward upon impact. The mirrors can also be folded towards the side windows when parked, enabling the vehicle to maneuver more easily in confined spaces.
Manual Folding
On some vehicles, the mirrors can be folded manually by pushing them towards the side windows and then unfolding them back to the operating position.
Power Folding
To fold the mirrors towards the side windows, press the mirror folding button (1). To return the mirrors to the operating position, press this button again.
If the mirrors are accidentally moved from their set position (e.g., one mirror is unfolded, the other is in the parked position), press the switch again to resynchronize them.
Automatic Mirror Tilting
The driver's seat memory system includes a feature that automatically tilts the driver's side exterior mirror downwards when reverse gear is engaged. This provides the driver with a better view of the curb. This feature is only available when the mirror selection button (2) is set to the driver's side.
Automatic Dimming Mirrors
On some models, the mirrors are equipped with an electrochromic dimming function to prevent glare from the headlights of following vehicles at night.
Curb Mirror (Japan Only)
The curb mirror is equipped with a lens divided into two sectors, providing a view along the left side and directly in front of the vehicle. Proper adjustment of the mirror reduces the number of "blind" spots.
Adjust the mirror position by turning the housing left or right. The mirror should be turned a few degrees at a time, and the view should be checked from the driver's seat before further adjustment.
Note: Alignment marks on the mirror housing and the lever indicate the original position set by the manufacturer.
