Whirlpool Top Loading Washing Machine Quick Reference Guide

Control Panel and Features

The appearance of your washing machine may vary depending on the model.

1. POWER: Touch to turn the machine on/off or to stop/cancel a cycle.

2. WHAT TO WASH/HOW TO WASH: First, select a cycle from the "WHAT to wash" options, then select a cycle from the "HOW to wash" options to achieve the best combination for your items. Refer to the "Cycle Guide" for detailed cycle information.

3. LCD TIME/STATUS DISPLAY: This display shows the estimated time for the cycle to complete. Factors like load size and water pressure can affect the displayed time. Tightly packed loads, unbalanced loads, or excessive suds may also cause the washer to adjust the cycle time. If a delay start is set, the display will show the adjusted delay time.

ADD GARMENT: When "Add Garment" is lit, you can pause the cycle, open the lid, and add items. Touch and hold the START/PAUSE button to resume the cycle.

4. START/PAUSE: Touch and hold to start a cycle. Touch during a cycle to pause and unlock the lid. Note: If the machine is spinning, it may take longer for the lid to unlock.

5. CYCLE MODIFIERS (Not all modifiers are available on all cycles):

6. CYCLE OPTIONS (Not all options are available on all cycles):

Get the Whirlpool® App and Get Connected

Download the Whirlpool® app on your mobile device. For subscription and connectivity instructions, terms of use, and privacy policy, visit www.whirlpool.com/connect or www.whirlpool.ca/connect (Canada). Launch the app and follow the steps to subscribe and create a user account to connect to your appliance. For assistance, call Whirlpool® Connected Appliances at 1-866-333-4591.

Using Your Washer

Connecting Unit to Internet: To connect your unit to the internet, download the Whirlpool® App and press "Remote Enable".

Allowing Remote Control and Interaction: The user must press "Remote Enable" when connected to allow remote control and interaction.

Fire Hazard Warning:

Never place items in the washer that are damp with gasoline or other flammable fluids. No washer can completely remove oil. Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it (including cooking oils). Doing so can result in death, explosion, or fire.

Steps for Using Your Washer:

  1. SORT & LOAD LAUNDRY: See "Loading Recommendation" section.
  2. ADD HE DETERGENT & LAUNDRY PRODUCTS TO DISPENSERS: Remove the dispenser tray for powder HE detergent. Use the bulk dispenser for liquid detergent.
  3. TOUCH POWER TO TURN ON THE WASHER.
  4. SELECT THE DESIRED CYCLE FOR YOUR LOAD: Choose from "WHAT to wash" categories.
  5. ADJUST CYCLE SETTINGS, IF DESIRED: Use Spin, Temp, and Soil options.
  6. SELECT ADDITIONAL OPTIONS: Choose from Quick, Extra Rinse, More Options, etc.
  7. TOUCH AND HOLD START/PAUSE TO BEGIN CYCLE.

Loading Recommendation:

For best performance, load items loosely and evenly around the washplate and agitator. Do not lay items lengthwise around the washplate or agitator.

Rinsing Before Running a Wash Cycle:

Water Faucet Operation: Press the faucet button once to turn on, and again to turn off. The faucet will automatically shut off after 10 minutes or when the maximum water level is reached. Water will drain automatically if the level becomes too high or the lid is left open for 10 minutes. On LOAD & GO™ models, when the faucet is on, touch the Temp button to select water temperature or the LOAD & GO™ button to manually dispense detergent.

Fabric Brush:

  1. Turn the brush from the body to open.
  2. Add liquid laundry detergent.
  3. Turn to close.
  4. To dispense detergent, push the button.

More Water When You Want It (Auto Sensing & Deep Water Wash):

The washer automatically adjusts the water level for the detected load size. Touch "Deep Water" to add more water. Levels: Auto, Medium, High, Max Fill. Not all levels are available on all cycles. It is normal for some items to be above the water line; the washer dampens and moves the load, causing items to settle.

Using the Dispenser:

The LOAD & GO™ feature is on by default. Touch the LOAD & GO™ button to view dispensing options. Hold the LOAD & GO™ button for 3 seconds to choose a detergent concentration (2X to 10X). Pull the drawer out for easy refilling.

2-IN-1 REMOVABLE AGITATOR

Agitator Mode: Keep it in for increased mechanical action to remove loose soils. Best for everyday mixed loads.

Impeller Mode: Remove it for added space and a gentle clean. Best for bulky items like bedding and delicate items like undergarments.

Using the Removable Agitator: Squeeze the handle, rotate counter-clockwise, and pull up to remove. Push down and rotate clockwise to re-install until it locks.
