This manual provides installation and usage instructions for the Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto module for Mercedes Benz vehicles.
Product Overview
The module enables seamless integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into compatible Mercedes Benz NTG 5.0 systems.
Features:
- CarPlay/Android Auto: Provides vehicle machine interaction for iPhone and Android devices, supporting voice commands, navigation, music playback, and Siri/Google Assistant interaction. Supports both wireless and wired CarPlay connections.
- Reversing Video Input: The module can decode video signals and accept input from rear-view cameras.

Function Statement
CarPlay/Android Auto
The built-in vehicle machine interaction system of iPhone cooperates with the central control knob button to provide voice command and control of phone, information, navigation, music, and Siri voice interaction. Supports wireless and wired connection CarPlay. The original ecological Android car-machine interaction system developed by Google offers voice control of phone, information, navigation, and music.
Reversing Video Input
The smart module can decode video and can be equipped with rear-view video input. The intelligent module can decode video and install rear view.

NTG5.0 Installation Instructions
Module Connections:
- Connect to the original vehicle LVDS port.
- Connect to the original car's host terminal.
- Power Cable: Yellow (B+), Red (ACC), Black (GND).
- Blue Cable: Camera Power supply.
- Brown Cable: Rear detect signal. Connect to the rearview light cable or 360 panoramic detection cable.
- White/Black Cables: For 360 panoramic system (TX/RX).
- CVBS Cables: REAR-CVBS for rearview camera or 360 AHD output, FRONT-CVBS for front view camera.
Antenna Note: Ensure antennas are not attached to hard surfaces.
Optical Fiber Cable: If the original power cable has an optical fiber cable, transfer it to the CarPlay box's power cable.
USB Port: Connect mobile phone, USB flash drive, or for software upgrades.
AUX Port: For audio output.
Steering Wheel Button Controls:
- Long press: Switch systems
- Short press: Connect/Hang up phone
- Short press: Increase or decrease volume
- Press: Restart
Central Control Instructions:
- Long press: Switch systems
- Knob: Move cursor
- Short press (knob): Confirm selection
- Move left/right (knob): Change track
- Long press (knob): Activate voice assistant (Siri/Google Assistant)
NTG5.0/5.1 Setting Note: Before entering the retrofit system, connect your phone to the original car's Bluetooth, select calls and media, and choose the original car audio in the Bluetooth stereo interface.
Installation Diagram Overview: The module connects to the factory radio head unit via original LVDS and 48PIN plugs. The WiFi antenna should be connected and positioned appropriately.
Connectivity Methods
5. Wireless CarPlay Connect Method
Steps:
- On your phone, enable WiFi and Bluetooth.
- Select "Discover and connect device".
- Choose the Bluetooth device named "CX_BT....." and pair your CarPlay.
6. Wireless Android Auto Connect Method
Steps:
- On your phone, enable WiFi and Bluetooth.
- Select "CX-BTXXXX" to pair your device for Android Auto.

Audio Configuration Notes:
- When a reverse camera is added, the original camera is turned off.
- If the original car has Bluetooth phone functionality, a separate microphone is not needed.
- Setup -> Audio Settings -> Use the original Bluetooth audio -> OFF
- Original multimedia selection: AUX
- Setup -> Audio Settings -> Use the original Bluetooth audio -> ON
- To play audio via Bluetooth, connect your cell phone's Bluetooth to the original car's Bluetooth audio system.
Adding Reversing Camera Wiring
- CAM-POWER: Connect to the camera's power source.
- rear-CVBS/AHD720P (25FPS/30FPS): Connect to the camera input.
Troubleshooting
- Screen Not Displaying Correctly: Check the LVDS cable and DIP switch settings.
- Sound Issues: Verify the Multimedia and original car's system settings.
- Mainframe Pilot Lamp Not Working: Ensure the power cable connection and fuse are secure and functional.
Attention: When a reverse camera is added, the original camera is turned off.
