Component Specifics and Recommendations

Victron Energy MultiPlus 1600VA/12V

Function: Inverter/Charger.

Power Assist: Can add 1.3 kW to the output load when needed, with a total input/output current sum of 16A + 5.6A = 21.6A.

AC Output Protection: Requires an Earth leakage breaker or an MCB/RCD on the output. Cable size must be adjusted accordingly.

DC Cable/Fuse Recommendations:

Victron Energy Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30

Function: Non-isolated DC/DC charger.

Connections: Includes connections for battery (B+), ground (GND), output (OUT), and ignition sense (IGNITION).

Protection: Main fuse for Orion input (e.g., 50A or 30A fuse shown).

Lithium Smart LiFePO4 Batteries

Type: 12.8V-100Ah.

Configuration: Two batteries connected in parallel.

BMS Integration: Connected to the VE.Bus BMS via BTV cables.

Starter Battery

Type: 12V-100Ah.

Charging: Charged by the Orion-Tr Smart DC/DC charger and potentially the MultiPlus when in charging mode.

Cerbo GX and GX Touch 50

Function: Central monitoring and control. GX Touch 50 provides the user interface.

Connectivity: Receives data via VE.Bus, VE.Direct, and Ethernet.

SmartSolar MPPT 100/30

Function: Optimizes solar power harvesting.

Connections: Connects to PV Array, Battery, and Cerbo GX via VE.Direct.

BMV-712 SMART
