SENECA T201DC100 Installation Manual

Preliminary Warnings

WARNING: The word WARNING followed by the symbol ! indicates conditions or actions that may endanger user safety. The word CAUTION followed by the symbol ! indicates conditions or actions that could damage the device or connected equipment. The warranty becomes void in case of improper use or alteration of the module or devices supplied by the manufacturer, necessary for correct operation, and if the instructions contained in this manual have not been followed.

WARNING: Before performing any operation, it is mandatory to read this manual in its entirety. The module must only be used by qualified technicians in the field of electrical installations. Specific documentation is available via the QR-CODE on page 1.

Only the manufacturer can repair the module or replace damaged components. The product is sensitive to electrostatic discharges; take appropriate measures during any operation.

Disposal of electrical and electronic waste (applicable in the European Union and in other countries that practice selective waste collection). The symbol present on the product or packaging indicates that the product must be taken to an authorized collection center for recycling of electrical and electronic waste.

Preliminary Usage Instructions

The T201DC100 can be mounted anywhere in any position, respecting the intended ambient conditions. Use the supplied accessory for DIN rail mounting.

N.B.: Powerful magnetostatic fields can alter the measurement. Ensure the device is not placed near permanent magnets, electromagnets, or ferrous masses that produce strong magnetic field alterations. If the zero error is greater than declared, consider an alternative arrangement or orientation.

Electrical Connections

ATTENTION: Cut off power before proceeding with wiring.

CURRENT OUTPUT FOR 4 ÷ 20 mA LOOP

It is possible to connect a voltage of maximum 28 V directly to the 4-20 mA loop at the output of the T201DC100.

Diagram:

CURRENT INPUT

ATTENTION: Ensure that the direction of the current flowing through the cable is as illustrated in the figure (entering).

To measure the current flowing through the cable, insert the cable into the central hole of the T201DC100 (as illustrated in the adjacent figure).

The maximum current that can be measured by the T201DC100 is 100 A.

To increase the current measurement sensitivity, insert the cable into the central hole of the T201DC100 multiple times, creating a series of turns. The sensitivity of the current measurement is proportional to the number of turns. Example: Set the lower scale, wind the wire around the hole 5 times, obtaining 4 turns. The full scale will be 5 times smaller, and the measurement will be more sensitive.

Arrange the turns symmetrically to maintain instrument accuracy.
