Installation Instructions for Castor 1791/1792
The following steps detail the installation process for the Castor lighting fixture.
Diagram Description:
The diagram illustrates the assembly of the lighting fixture. It shows the mounting plate, fixture body, glass shade, and internal components like the driver and wiring. Various parts are labeled with letters (A-L) corresponding to the parts list.
Parts List:
Part(s) Label | Replacement Part Name | Number |
---|---|---|
A,B,C,D | HARDWARE KIT | HDW-1791 |
E | FIXTURE MOUNTING SCREW | SCR-M |
H | GLASS | GLS-1791 |
I | RING | RNG-1791 |
J | DRIVER | DVR-1791 (for 1791 model) / DVR-1792 (for 1792 model) |
Installation Steps:
- Connect the white wire on the DRIVER (J) to the neutral (generally white) wire in the outlet box. Fasten the wires together with an approved fastener (WIRE NUTS) (D). Starting 1" below the fastener, tightly wrap the connection with electrical tape so that the connections seal the end of the fastener. Make sure there are no exposed wire strands that could cause a dangerous short circuit.
- Connect the black wire on the DRIVER (J) to the hot (generally black) wire in the junction box. Fasten the joined wires as in the previous step. Never reverse hot and neutral wires. Failure to follow this could result in serious injury or death. Put the DRIVER (I) into the junction box.
- Attach the Ground wire (Green) to the ground inside the outlet box (generally green or bar copper wire) or the GROUND SCREW (C) on the MOUNTING PLATE (A). Never connect the ground wire to the "hot" wire. Failure to follow this could result in serious injury or death.
- Attach the MOUNTING PLATE (A) onto the junction box using the MOUNTING SCREWS (B). This fixture is designed to be mounted on a standard junction box. The junction box must be securely mounted to the structure of the building.
- Insert the FEMALE (K) into the MALE (L). Push the wires and DRIVER (I) back into the junction box.
- Attach the FIXTURE ASSEMBLY (F) to the MOUNTING PLATE (A) and secure with the FIXTURE MOUNTING SCREWS (E).
- Screw the LED FIXTURE (G) up to the FIXTURE ASSEMBLY (F) of the fixture.
- Install the GLASS (H) up to the FIXTURE ASSEMBLY (F) and secure with the RING (I).
- Restore power to the outlet at the breaker or fuse box.
