Installing Your Dimmer (Single Pole Installation)

WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD - May result in serious injury or death. Turn off power at circuit breaker or fuse before installing.

  1. Turn power off at circuit breaker ⚡: Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding.
  2. Remove existing switch from wall: Carefully remove the wallplate and then the existing switch from the wallbox.
  3. Remove side sections (if necessary): For some installations, side sections of the dimmer may need to be removed to fit in a multi-gang box. Bend back and forth to remove. Note: Do not remove outside side sections on dimmers at the end of a gang.
  4. Disconnect all three wires* from the switch: Carefully detach the wires from the old switch.

Important Note: 3-Way Installation

If more than one switch controls the light (a 3-way installation), you will need to purchase the PJ2-WALL-WH-L01 accessory. For detailed instructions, please visit www.casetawireless.com/3way.

Important Note: Wattage Derating

Removing side sections reduces the dimmer's maximum wattage rating. See the chart below for maximum wattage information (120 V~ 50/60 Hz):

*For maximum wattage information when mixing light bulb types, see www.casetawireless.com/ganging.

  1. Connect the dimmer: Follow the wiring diagram.
    • Connect the [Ground Wire] (bare copper or green) from the wallbox to the green wire on the dimmer using a wire connector.
    • Connect the [Load Wire] from the wallbox to the red wire on the dimmer using a wire connector.
    • Connect the [Hot Wire] from the wallbox to the black wire on the dimmer using a wire connector.
    • If available, connect the [Neutral Wire] from the wallbox to the white wire on the dimmer. If neutral is not available, cap the white wire with a wire connector. A neutral wire is required for MLV loads, LED drivers, PHPM-PA, PHPM-3F, and GRX-TVI.
    • Cap the [Blue Wire] with a wire connector. This wire is only used for a 3-way installation with a mechanical toggle switch. See www.casetawireless.com/3way for details.
  2. Mount the dimmer: Use the provided screws (x2) to secure the dimmer in the wallbox.
  3. Attach the wallplate: Attach the adapter to the dimmer using the provided screws and snap the wallplate on. If installing in a multi-gang box, ensure the wallplate has the correct number of openings for all devices.
  4. Turn power on at circuit breaker ⚡: Restore power to the circuit.
