1 Features

Mixing and dosing of addition-curing 1:1 two-component silicones. The prerequisite for uniform dosing is the same viscosity of both components. The additional quantity regulation ensures an optimal mixing ratio. If deviations occur, e.g., for technical reasons (wear of the pump) or after a component change with different viscosity, the mixing ratio can be readjusted.

2 Identification of Safety Instructions in this Manual

Warning! This is a warning that indicates risk situations and dangers. Disregarding this warning can lead to life-threatening situations. These warnings must be observed!

Information! This is information that points out specific features that must be observed.

3 Safety Instructions

Any commissioning and handling of the device presupposes the exact knowledge and observance of this operating manual. The device is intended only for the described use.

CAUTION: All service and repair work must be carried out exclusively by authorized specialist personnel. Always pull the power plug before maintenance and cleaning work.

Ensure that the device is operated with the correct mains voltage.

Always keep both silicone components separate – never interchange connections! Mixing the components will cause the silicone to harden in the device, requiring extensive repair work at the factory in Hamburg.

For ventilation, drill the 1-liter bottles, 6 kg and 25 kg canisters using a drill or similar object at the upper side edge. Do not tighten the lids of the 2-liter material containers for ventilation, but place them loosely.

After curing, a new mixing cannula must be fitted before further use.

CAUTION: Never force against a cured mixing cannula!

When using large containers, note that the canisters must be stored higher than the device. Corresponding support stands are available as accessories.

Ensure a minimum fill level of approximately 2-3 cm remains in the containers, otherwise air can enter the system, and the device will require extensive venting.

CAUTION: Never allow the device to run empty! The pump must never run dry!

4 Liability for Function and Damages

Liability for the function of the device passes to the owner or operator in any case, provided that the device is improperly maintained, repaired, or modified by persons not belonging to an authorized specialist workshop, or if handling occurs that does not correspond to the intended use. The device must be maintained and operated according to this operating manual. Wassermann Dental-Maschinen GmbH is not liable for damages incurred due to non-compliance with the above instructions. Warranty and liability conditions of the sales and delivery conditions of Wassermann Dental-Maschinen GmbH are not extended by the above instructions.

6 Before Commissioning

6.1 Transport

Before transport, ensure that the device is disconnected from the mains. When shipping, proper packaging should be ensured to avoid unnecessary transport damage.

Information: It is important that any transport damage is recognized upon unpacking. If necessary, an immediate report of the facts is required.

6.2 Setup

Open the transport carton, remove packaging material, and carefully remove the device and accessories. Check the supplied accessories.

The device must be placed horizontally on a stable and level surface.

Position the device so that the work area and operability are not restricted (consider dimensions).

Do not set up the device outdoors or in poorly ventilated areas.

Before commissioning, the device must be allowed to reach room temperature.

6.3 Storage

The storage location is of great importance for the functional safety of the device, even for short-term intermediate storage. The installation site should be dry, ventilated, and free from vibrations. Constant temperatures and a wooden base are advantageous. The device must not be stored or set up outdoors. For prolonged storage, protect the device from moisture and dust.

7 Installation/Commissioning

Information: Before commissioning, please install the following connections: Remove sealing caps from the connections and the dosing head.

Finally, plug the power plug into the socket – ensure the voltage ratings of the device and the mains match.

7.1 When using 2 Liter Material Containers (Included in delivery):

Information: Fill the material containers with the respective component.

Caution: Attach the container filled with colored silicone mass – Component B – to the color-coded receptacle on the back of the device. Do not interchange! If the connectors are interchanged even briefly, the device must be dismantled and cleaned.

Very important: For ventilation, do not tighten the lids of the material containers firmly, but place them loosely.

7.2 When using 1 kg Bottles:

Information: Unscrew the caps from the bottles with two-component silicone and screw the aforementioned metal quick-release couplings (accessory adapter set) onto the bottles.

Caution: Screw the color-coded quick-release coupling onto the bottle filled with colored silicone mass – Component B. Do not interchange! If the connectors are interchanged even briefly, the device must be dismantled and cleaned.

Attach the bottles with quick-release couplings to the receptacle on the back of the device (bottles will then be upside down).

Very important: For ventilation, drill the bottles at the upper side edge using a drill or similar object.

7.3 When using 6 kg Containers:

Information: Unscrew the caps from the canisters with two-component silicone and screw the adapter set onto the canisters.

Caution: Screw the color-coded adapter onto the canister filled with colored silicone mass – Component B. Do not interchange! If the connectors are interchanged even briefly, the device must be dismantled and cleaned.

Attach the canisters with quick-release couplings to the receptacle on the back of the device (canisters will then be upside down).

Very important: For ventilation, drill the canisters at the upper side edge using a drill or similar object.

7.4 When using 25 kg Containers:

When using large containers, note that the canisters must be stored higher than the device. Corresponding support stands are available as accessories.

Unscrew the caps from the canisters with two-component silicone and screw on the connecting hoses.

Caution: Screw the color-coded connecting hose with quick-release coupling onto the canister filled with colored silicone mass – Component B. Do not interchange! If the connectors are interchanged even briefly, the device must be dismantled and cleaned.

Store the canisters, e.g., on the optionally available support stand, so that they are higher than the dosing device (canisters will then be upside down) and attach the connecting hoses with quick-release couplings to the receptacle on the back of the device.

Very important: For ventilation, drill the canisters at the upper side edge using a drill or similar object.

7.5 Bottle/Canister Change:

Remove the quick-release couplings/bottle adapters by pulling the locking mechanism from the device. Screw the quick-release couplings/bottle adapters onto the new bottles/canisters and connect as described above.

Extremely important: Pay close attention to ensuring that the bottles or connecting hoses A+B are NEVER – not even briefly – interchanged, as the silicone in the connections and lines will harden immediately! Cleaning is then very complex and may only be carried out by authorized repair companies.

When using large containers, note that the canisters must be stored higher than the device. Corresponding support stands are available as accessories.

Never force against a cured mixing cannula!

8 Operation

8.1 General Operating Instructions

All recommendations for the use of the device, whether in oral or written form, are based on our own experience and tests and can therefore only be considered as guidelines.

Information: Switch on the device, the toggle switch lights up green (right side of the device).

8.2 Note on Quantity Regulation/Flow Rate Setting

The adjustment screws are located on the side of the device. (Housing bore left and right, please use a slotted screwdriver)

Information:Regulator closed: Rotary flow regulator is turned fully to the right to the stop. 100% of the component flows from the container to the mixing cannula.

Information:Regulator open: Adjustment range: 2 to max. 4 turns to the left. Part of the component flows from the container to the mixing cannula, and the remaining part of the component flows in the bypass circuit.

Information:Regulator open: More than 4 turns to the left. 100% of the component flows in the bypass circuit, so that no delivery from the mixing cannula occurs.

8.3 Initial Commissioning and Material Change

*The device is filled with a test fluid ex works!

Important: When commissioning for the first time or changing material, the following must be observed, otherwise the test fluid will mix with the material or "old" and "new" material will mix:

(Please also refer to Section 3 and Sections 7.1 – 7.5!)

For cleaning the lines and the dosing pump (one-time operation):

Place a collection vessel under the mixing head without a mixing cannula, and open the flow regulators (side bore right / left in the housing) from the closed position (stop fully to the right) by turning them 2 ½ to 3 turns counterclockwise using a slotted screwdriver.

Now press the red button and hold it down until both components run out of the mixing cannula receptacle simultaneously and without bubbles.

Then close the flow regulators and check the mixing ratio. If it is not 1:1, it is possible to open the flow regulator for the component that is delivered too much in small steps (from 2 turns to the left in 1/8-turn increments) to optimize the mixing ratio. A new check is required after each adjustment.

8.4 Using Mixing Cannulas and Dosing

Attach the mixing cannula by turning it 90° in the mixing cannula receptacle (clean the receptacle if necessary). Place a tray or the model prepared for duplication with the system under the mixing cannula. Press the red button: 1:1 mixed silicone flows from the mixing cannula.

It is advisable to collect a very small amount of the first mixture and then let the mixed mass flow into the mold. Several molds can be filled one after another without changing the mixing cannula, as long as the interval between individual dosing operations is within the setting time (approx. 4 min) of the silicone used. The 1:1 dosing unit dispenses mixed silicone as long as the red button is pressed.

Leave the mixing cannula attached to the device after use and allow the remaining silicone to cure. This will effectively seal the openings of both components.

! Do not use duplicating materials with a Shore hardness A 16 and fast-setting duplicating materials from Shore hardness A 30 in the device.

! Do not use hydrophilic duplicating materials in the device.

We recommend performing a maximum of two duplicating processes consecutively.

After curing, a new mixing cannula must be fitted before further use. CAUTION: Never force against a cured mixing cannula!

Important to note: If one or both containers are empty, do not continue working, as the lines will draw in air (Observe the minimum fill level of the containers: ~ 2-3 cm!).

9 Troubleshooting/Error Correction

Malfunction Cause Troubleshooting
Device does not deliver. Cured material in the old cannula. Mount a new mixing cannula.
Device does not deliver. Mixing head clogged. Carefully clean the mixing head. Caution: Silicone components must not come into contact with each other here!
Device does not deliver. The A and B components were interchanged; the silicone has cured in the device system. The device must be completely dismantled and cleaned by a specialist.
Device does not deliver. The minimum fill level of the silicone containers is not reached; the system has drawn in air. Refill silicone material. Place a collection vessel under the mixing head without a mixing cannula, press the red button and hold it down until both components run out of the mixing cannula receptacle simultaneously and without bubbles. Then adjust the mixing ratio again using the flow regulators to 1:1. If necessary, carefully clean the mixing head and fit a new mixing cannula.
Device does not deliver at a 1:1 ratio. The silicone components do not have the same viscosity. We recommend using Wassermann duplicating silicones WaSil soft and WaSil speed.
Device does not deliver at a 1:1 ratio. The gears in the pump are unevenly worn. For slight wear, see Section 8.2 Notes on Flow Rate Setting. If this is not sufficient, the device must be serviced by a specialist.
