Operations
Switching ON/OFF
Press the LASER ON button to turn the device ON. The device is turned OFF by pressing the C/OFF button for 5 seconds. If no key is pressed for 120 seconds, the device switches off automatically.
If the info icon ⓘ appears with a number, consult the "Message Codes" section.
Unit setting
Press the UNITS button for 3 seconds to switch between the following units: 0.000 m, 0'00" 1/16, 0 1/16 in, 0.00 ft.
Change Measurement Reference
The system default measurements start at the bottom as a reference point.
- The device is initially set with the bottom as the reference point.
- Press the UNITS button to change the reference to the top of the device for measurement.
- The measurement and the system recover to the initial setting (bottom reference).
Measuring Functions
Measuring single distance
- Press LASER ON to activate the laser.
- Aim the active laser at the target.
- Press LASER ON again to take the measurement. The result (e.g., 59.99 m) is displayed.
Target surfaces: Measuring errors can occur when measuring to colourless liquids, glass, styrofoam, or semi-permeable surfaces, or when aiming at high gloss surfaces. Against dark surfaces, the measuring time increases.
Continuous measuring
- Press LASER ON for 3 seconds to start continuous measuring.
- Aim the active laser at the target. The last value measured is displayed.
- Press LASER ON to stop continuous measuring.
Area
- Press the appropriate button to select Area mode (indicated by 1x).
- Aim laser at the first target point.
- Aim laser at the second target point.
- The result is shown in the main line and the measured distance above (e.g., 24.352 m²).
Volume
- Select Volume mode (indicated by 2x).
- Aim laser at the first target point.
- Aim laser at the second target point.
- Aim laser at the third target point.
- The result is shown in the main line and the measured distance above (e.g., 78.694 m³).
Pythagoras (2-point)
- Select Pythagoras (2-point) mode (indicated by 3x).
- Aim laser at the first target point.
- Aim laser at the second target point, ensuring a 90° angle to the first measurement.
- The result is shown in the main line and the measured distance above (e.g., 25.286 m).
Pythagoras (3-point)
- Select Pythagoras (3-point) mode (indicated by 4x).
- Aim laser at the first target point.
- Aim laser at the second target point, perpendicular to the measuring surface.
- Aim laser at the third target point.
- The result is shown in the main line and the measured distance above (e.g., 26.868 m).
Clear
Press the C/off button to undo the last action.
Addition/Subtraction
- Measure the first data (e.g., 29.999 m).
- Press the "+" or "-" button to add or subtract the next measurement from the previous data.
- Then measure the second data (e.g., 20.000 m).
- The result is shown in the main line and the measured distance above (e.g., +20.000 m / 49.999 m or -20.000 m / 9.999 m).

*The typical measurement uncertainty of ± 2 mm is valid for measurements on white, diffusive, reflective targets up to 5 m at low ambient light and moderate temperatures. For distances greater than 5 m, the measurement uncertainty could increase additionally by 0.1 mm/m. In unfavourable conditions (such as bright sunlight, targets with poor reflectivity, or high or low temperatures) the measurement uncertainty could further increase up to ± 4 mm for distances below 5 m and additionally by roughly 0.15 mm/m for distances greater than 5 m.
