Key Components
- Laser Emitter: Front-facing, emits the laser beam.
- Display: Shows measurement results, units, battery status, and function indicators.
- Buttons:
- ON/Measure/Continuous: Powers on, initiates single measurement, or starts continuous measurement.
- Units/Reference: Cycles through units (m, ft, in, ft+in) and changes the measurement reference point (front/bottom or rear/top).
- FUNC: Selects measurement functions (Area, Volume, Pythagoras).
- Tape Measure Hook: For extending the 5m tape.
- Battery: Rechargeable Li-ion battery.
- Charging Port: Type-C for recharging.
Display Indicators
The display shows:
- Current measurement value.
- Selected unit (m, ft, in, ft+in).
- Measurement reference point.
- Battery level.
- Function indicators.
Battery Charging
Charge the device using the Type-C cable when the battery symbol is empty. A full charge supports up to 5000 measurements.
Operations
Switching ON/OFF
Press the ON/Measure button to turn the device ON. It automatically switches OFF after 120 seconds of inactivity.
Measuring Single Distance
- Press the ON/Measure button to activate the laser.
- Aim the laser beam at the target surface.
- Press the ON/Measure button again to take the measurement. The result is displayed.
Target surfaces: Measurement errors may occur on colorless liquids, glass, styrofoam, semi-permeable surfaces, or highly glossy surfaces. Dark surfaces may increase measurement time.
Continuous Measuring
- Press and hold the ON/Measure button for approximately 3 seconds to enter continuous measurement mode.
- Move the device slowly while aiming at the target. The measurement updates in real-time.
- Press the ON/Measure button to stop and hold the last measured value.
Unit Setting
Press and hold the Units/Reference button for 3 seconds to cycle through available units: meters (m), feet (ft), inches (in), feet and inches (ft'in'').
Measurement Reference Changing
The default measurement reference is the bottom of the device. Press the Units/Reference button to switch the reference point to the top of the device.
Area Measurement
2-Point Area:
- Select the Area function using the FUNC button.
- Aim the laser at the first corner of the area and press ON/Measure.
- Aim the laser at the second corner and press ON/Measure. The device calculates and displays the area.
Volume Measurement
3-Point Volume:
- Select the Volume function using the FUNC button.
- Aim the laser at the first corner (e.g., length) and press ON/Measure.
- Aim the laser at the second corner (e.g., width) and press ON/Measure.
- Aim the laser at the third corner (e.g., height) and press ON/Measure. The device calculates and displays the volume.
Pythagoras (2-point)
Used to calculate the height or length of an object indirectly, forming a right triangle.
- Select the Pythagoras (2-point) function using the FUNC button.
- Aim the laser at the first target point. Press ON/Measure.
- Aim the laser at the second target point, ensuring the device is positioned to form a 90° angle with the line between the first point and the device. Press ON/Measure.
- The device calculates and displays the indirect measurement (hypotenuse).
Pythagoras (3-point)
Used for indirect measurement when a direct line of sight is obstructed.
- Select the Pythagoras (3-point) function using the FUNC button.
- Aim the laser at the first target point. Press ON/Measure.
- Aim the laser at the second target point (perpendicular to the measuring surface, forming a 90° angle). Press ON/Measure.
- Aim the laser at the third target point. Press ON/Measure.
- The device calculates and displays the indirect measurement.
