Some water-resistant watches come with a leather strap. Do not wear such models while swimming or in any other situation involving submersion of the strap in water.
Precautions for Operating Your Watch
- Do not attempt to open the case or remove the back cover.
- The gasket for water and dust protection should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If water or condensation gets into the watch, immediately take it for repair to your CASIO dealer or distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to excessively high temperatures.
- Although the watch is equipped with a shock-resistant mechanism, avoid strong impacts or dropping it on hard surfaces.
- Do not overtighten the strap. A finger should be able to fit under the strap.
Care Instructions
To clean the watch and strap, use a soft cloth, dry or dampened with a soapy solution. Do not use volatile chemical solvents (such as gasoline, solvents, cleaning aerosols, etc.). Always store the watch in a dry place when not in use. Do not expose the watch to aggressive reactive agents such as gasoline, cleaning agents, aerosols. Chemical reactions with such agents will lead to the destruction of the gasket, case, and polishing. Some watch straps have their characteristics printed on them. When cleaning such straps, be careful not to erase them. For watches with plastic straps... You may notice a whitish powdery deposit on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be removed by wiping the strap with a cloth. If moisture is left on a plastic strap or if the watch is left in a high-humidity environment, the strap may warp, crack, or tear. To preserve the plastic strap, wipe off dirt or moisture with a soft cloth as soon as possible. For watches with fluorescent straps and cases... Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescence color to fade. Prolonged contact with moisture may cause the fluorescence color to fade. Wipe moisture from the surface as soon as possible. Prolonged contact with other wet surfaces may cause the fluorescence color to fade. Wipe moisture from the fluorescent surface as soon as possible and avoid contact with other surfaces. Strong friction of a surface with a fluorescent print against another surface may cause the printed color to transfer to the other surface. CASIO COMPUTER CO LTD is not responsible for third-party claims that may arise from the use of this watch.

Current Time Mode
Use this mode to display the current time, date, and day of the week. The analog hands show the hour and minute.
Setting Time and Date
- In Current Time Mode, press and hold the [A] button until the seconds digits flash on the display, indicating that this field is selected for setting.
- Press the [C] button to move the flashing value from field to field in the following sequence: Seconds, DST (On/Off), Minutes, Hours, Year, Month, Date, 12/24-hour format.
- When the seconds field is flashing, press the [D] button to reset the seconds to 00. If you press [D] when seconds are between 30 and 59, the minutes will increase by 1. If seconds are between 00 and 29, the minutes will remain unchanged.
- When setting the Daylight Saving Time (DST) field, press the [D] button to switch between Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time. The DST indicator will appear on the screen if Daylight Saving Time is selected. Setting DST for your home city in Current Time mode also applies to that city in World Time mode.
- When the city code field is flashing in World Time mode, use the [D] (+) and [B] (-) buttons to scroll through city codes until the desired city appears. This allows you to set the time for that city. (Refer to the "City Code Table" at the end of this manual for city information.)
- When setting the 12/24-hour format field, press the [D] button to select either format.
- While hours, minutes, year, month, or date are flashing, press the [D] button to increase the value and the [B] button to decrease it. Holding these buttons down will accelerate the change.
- After setting all desired values, press the [A] button to return to the current time display.
The day of the week is set automatically according to the date. The date can be set from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2039.
Auto EL Backlight Function
When the auto backlight function is enabled, the watch automatically illuminates for 1.5 seconds each time the hand is positioned as shown in the diagram below.
Note: The watch is not designed to be worn on the inside of the wrist, as this may cause unintentional activation of the auto backlight, reducing battery life.
Diagram shows the correct hand position for activating the auto backlight: the watch is held parallel to the ground, and the wrist is turned towards the user by approximately 40 degrees. A second diagram illustrates that if the watch face is tilted more than 15 degrees left or right from parallel, the backlight may not activate.
Static electricity or magnetic fields can interfere with the proper operation of the auto backlight. If the auto backlight does not work, try returning the watch to its starting position (parallel to the ground) and turning it towards you again. If this does not help, shake your hand downwards and return it to the original position. Under certain conditions, the backlight may activate only 1 second after performing the above actions. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
Enabling and Disabling Auto Backlight: In Current Time Mode, press and hold the [D] button for one or two seconds to enable or disable the auto backlight function. An indicator will appear on the display when the function is active.
Operating Modes
Auto EL Backlight (Continued)
The auto backlight indicator appears on the display in all modes when the function is enabled. To conserve battery power, the auto backlight function automatically turns off approximately 6 hours after being enabled. To use the backlight again, repeat the activation procedure. Pressing the [B] button at any time illuminates the screen, regardless of whether the auto backlight function is enabled.
Note: The backlight uses an electro-luminescent light source, which may lose its luminescence with prolonged use. Frequent use of the backlight shortens battery life. The watch emits a beep when the screen is illuminated. This sound is due to the electro-luminescent light source vibrating slightly when activated. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
Warning! Do not read the watch display in the dark while climbing a mountain or in other difficult terrain, as this is dangerous and may lead to injury. Do not read the watch display while walking along a road or where vehicles are present, as this is risky and may lead to an accident. Do not read the watch display while cycling, operating a motorcycle, or driving a car, as this is dangerous and may lead to an accident. Before operating a vehicle, check that the auto backlight function on your watch is turned off. Sudden, unintentional activation of the auto backlight may distract you and lead to an accident.
World Time Mode
This mode displays the time for 27 cities (29 time zones) worldwide. Refer to the "City Code Table" at the end of this manual for a complete list of cities.
The time in Current Time and World Time modes is synchronized. Whenever you change the time setting for any time zone in Current Time mode, the time in all cities in World Time mode will adjust accordingly.

- When the desired city code appears on the screen, press the [A] button to view the time in that city.
To return to the city code screen, press the [D] button. From this point, you can use the [D] button again to scroll through city codes.
Daylight Saving Time (DST)
During summer, clocks are set one hour forward from Standard Time. You can set Daylight Saving Time for each city individually. Note that not all countries and regions observe Daylight Saving Time.
Switching Between Daylight and Standard Time
- In World Time mode, display the city code you want to switch to Standard or Daylight Time using the [D] button.
- Press and hold the [A] button for 1 second to switch between Daylight Time (DST indicator on screen) and Standard Time (no indicator). The DST indicator appears on the display, indicating that Daylight Saving Time is active.
Phone Book Mode
The Phone Book mode allows you to store up to 30 entries, each containing a name (up to 8 characters) and a phone number (up to 14 characters). Names are automatically sorted alphabetically. You can scroll through the stored data on the screen. Refer to the "List of Symbols" at the end of this manual to see the order in which data is sorted. If the memory is empty or you are in the area between the last and first entry, a blank screen will appear when entering this mode. The data displayed when exiting Phone Book mode will appear first when re-entering the mode.
Entering Entries
- In Phone Book mode, press the [B] and [D] buttons simultaneously to display a new entry screen. A new entry is a blank line, not containing a name or phone number. If a blank screen does not appear, the watch's memory is full. You will need to delete some old entries to add new ones.
- Press and hold the [A] button until the cursor appears on the display.
- Use the [D] and [B] buttons to select the desired character for the cursor position. Characters cycle in the following order: [Space] from A to Z ([D] button), 0 to 9 ([B] button), and symbols ([.], [-], [/], [:], [']). Holding these buttons down scrolls characters at an accelerated rate.
- After selecting the desired character, press the [C] button to move the cursor to the right. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the name is entered completely.
- After entering the name, press [C] to move to the phone number input screen ("-----").
- You can enter up to 8 characters for the name, but only 6 will be displayed at once. If the entered name is shorter than 8 characters, use the [C] button to move the cursor to the eighth position. (For example, if the name has 5 characters, you will need to press [C] 3 times.) The text part can contain up to 8 characters. When the cursor is in the eighth position of the text part, entering the last character will move the cursor to the first position of the phone number zone. From the fourteenth digit of the phone number, the cursor will jump to the first character of the text.
- In the phone number input area, use the [B] or [D] buttons to set the desired digit at the cursor position. Holding down these buttons allows you to scroll through digits at a higher speed. Digits scroll in the following sequence: 0 to 9 ([D] button), [Space], [Hyphen] ([B] button).
- After selecting the desired digit, press the [C] button to move to the right to set the next digit. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until the phone number is entered completely. You can enter up to 14 digits for the number.
- After entering the data, press the [A] button to save it. When you press [A] to save, the message "SORT" appears for a few seconds, indicating that the watch is sorting the data. After sorting is complete, the cursor is positioned in the text area, ready for a new entry.
- Enter the next entry (starting from step 3 above) or press [A] again to return to Phone Book mode (without a cursor). The display may show six characters or nine digits at once. Longer messages scroll from right to left. The "<" indicator shows that the character to its left is the last one, and the character to its right is the first in the entry. If you press the [D] button while a name is scrolling, the cursor will jump to the first character of the name. Scrolling will resume from that point. If you press the [D] button while a phone number is scrolling, the cursor will jump to the first character of the number. Scrolling will resume from that point.
Precautions: In the following cases, all data entered into the phone book may be erased. It is recommended to keep copies of particularly important data. Watch malfunction or repair / Battery failure / Battery replacement. CASIO is not liable for data loss or damage resulting from such loss.
