The Monoblock Recirculation Filter
Contemporary kitchen ventilation relies on energy efficiency, and recirculation offers a practical solution. Recirculation extractor hoods filter cooking fumes, removing odors and grease, and then return the purified air into the home.
The Novy Monoblock filter effectively absorbs unpleasant odors, eliminating the need for external hot air exhaust. Its design features advanced activated carbon particles, shaped as minuscule spheres bonded to a labyrinth structure. This structure minimizes pressure loss and maximizes efficiency, resulting in effective extraction, excellent odor absorption, and reduced noise levels.
Using the Monoblock Recirculation Filter
The Monoblock filter is designed for use with cooker hoods or worktop extractors.
- Before programming and using the recirculation mode, consult your appliance's operating instructions.
- For optimal performance, switch on the extractor before cooking and allow it to run for the specified after-running time, as detailed in your appliance's manual.
- Ensure adequate kitchen ventilation for the recirculation system to operate efficiently.
An indicator on the cooker hood or worktop extractor will signal when the Monoblock recirculation filter needs replacement. The filter's lifespan is indicated on its label.
A new Monoblock filter can be obtained from specialist retailers or via the Novy website. The article number for the Monoblock filter is 7600060.
Installation Steps
Important Preliminary Notes:
- For TYPE 7642 (BLACK/NOIR/ZWART/SCHWARZ) models, do not remove the cardboard packaging around the chimney parts until after assembly to prevent damage.
Installation Materials:
- Recirculation Kit Materials: 8x 906.055, 1x 906-292, 1x 906-217, 1x 760060, 8x 906-151
- Cooker Hood Materials: 8x 906.143, 1x 801.006, 4x 906.133, 2x 906.035
Step 1: Hood Assembly
Carefully unpack the island hood. Slide the upper shaft section out of the lower shaft section. Rotate the shaft so the grate is at the top. Then, carefully slide the upper shaft section back into the lower shaft section.
Step 2: Recirculation Box Attachment
Unpack the recirculation box. Attach the supplied exhaust pipe (906217) to the connection on the recirculation box using the supplied aluminum tape (906292) or a hose clamp (not supplied). Ensure the pipe is securely attached but do not extend it fully.
Step 3-4: Mounting Frame and Recirculation Box Installation
Slide the hood mounting frame upwards until the recirculation box can be positioned between the frame's supports. Insert the box on the side where the mounting holes are located. [Attention!] When positioning the recirculation box, ensure its underside (marked 'X') is always above the center of the connecting spout (marked 'H'). Allow the recirculation box to rest in the mounting frame.
Step 5: Measuring and Height Adjustment
First, measure the distance from the work surface to the ceiling (A). Determine the required mounting height (B) between the bottom of the hood and the work surface:
- For electrical or ceramic cooktops: Recommended height is 600 mm to 850 mm.
- For gas or induction cooktops: Recommended height is 650 mm to 850 mm.
The distance 'C' is then determined and set using the island hood's suspension frame.
Step 6-7: Securing the Suspension Frame
Adjust distance 'C' by sliding the suspension frame. Once the desired height is set, secure the frame using the 4 bolts (906133). Tighten the bolts firmly.
[Important Note]: If distance 'C' is close to the minimum height of 679 mm, delay securing the mounting frame until the exhaust pipe (already attached to the recirculation box) is connected to the motor housing's outlet. This ensures sufficient clearance for fixing the exhaust pipe in a later step.
Step 8-9: Attaching the Recirculation Box to the Frame
Bring the recirculation box to the designated recess in the mounting frame. Bend the lips of the recirculation box over. Align the holes in the mounting frame with those in the recirculation box. Secure the lips to the mounting frame using the 4 screws (906151).
Step 10: Connecting the Outlet Pipe
Mount the exhaust pipe (already attached to the recirculation box) onto the motor's connection spout.
[Attention!]: If the mounting frame has not yet been secured at the correct height, do so now using the 4 screws (906151).
Step 11-12: Ceiling Frame Installation
Locate the drilling jig in the hood's mounting instructions. Position the jig against the ceiling in the correct direction (refer to the operation indicator) at the intended mounting location for the island hood. Mark the fastening holes on the ceiling. Drill the holes using an 8 mm bit. Insert the 4 supplied plugs (906155). Attach the ceiling frame to the ceiling using the screws (906143).
Step 13-14: Lifting and Securing the Hood
With at least two people, lift the hood towards the ceiling frame. Press the suspension frame into the ceiling frame until it clicks into place. Partially screw in the 4 bolts (906133) into both frames. Ensure the island hood is level, then firmly tighten all 4 bolts.
Step 15-16: Installing the Inner Shaft
Slide the inner shaft section upwards towards the ceiling. Perform this action carefully to avoid damaging the hood or the shafts. Fasten the inner shaft using the 2 stainless steel screws (906035).
Step 17: Installing the Monoblock Recirculation Filter
Open the bottom panel of the hood and remove the aluminum grease filter.
Step 18: Placing the Filter
Place the Monoblock recirculation filter (7600060) into the designated opening.
Step 19: Finalizing Filter Installation and Program Selection
Replace the grease filter in the cooker hood. Attach the sticker indicating the filter's lifespan next to the grease filter opening. Close the bottom panel.
Recirculation Program Selection:
When using the recirculation mode, always set the appropriate recirculation program on the cooker hood itself. Refer to your appliance's user manual for specific instructions.
