Your New Smart Plug Guide

Setup

Follow these steps to set up your new Smart Plug.

  1. Download and Install App

    Download and install the SmartThings app. The app is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

  2. Set up SmartThings Hub

    Ensure your SmartThings Hub is already set up. The Smart Plug requires a SmartThings Hub to function.

  3. Plug In and Power On

    Plug the Smart Plug into a power source and switch the power source on. Wait until the LED on the plug blinks Red and Green.

  4. Pair Smart Plug with Hub

    In the SmartThings app on your phone, pair the Smart Plug with the Hub. Select "Add device" > "SmartThings" > "Outlet" > "Smart Plug (7A-PL-Z-J3)".

  5. Complete Setup

    Follow the on-screen instructions in the SmartThings app to complete the setup process.

  6. Installation Complete

    When the installation is complete, the indicator light will change to solid green for a while and then turn off.

Placement

The Smart Plug can be used to monitor and control lights, electronics, and appliances from anywhere.

Ensure you use the Smart Plug in the correct socket for the plug type. Always check before using that the voltage supply is suitable for the Smart Plug, within the specified limits, and that the connected device is also within the specified voltage and current limits.

Troubleshooting

To reset: Ensure the Plug is powered, then press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds until the LED blinks Green and Red.

Follow the instructions from Step 4 to re-pair your Smart Plug.

Safety Instructions

Read, keep, and follow these instructions. Heed all warnings.

  • For indoor use only. Do not use in wet locations.
  • The total current limit of the device is 13A. To avoid damage, do not exceed the 13A limit.
  • If a direct short is created on the output, the Smart Plug will be damaged and no longer function.
  • Do not disassemble the product, or make repairs yourself. You run the risk of electric shock and voiding the limited warranty. If you need service, please contact the reseller or authorized service facility.
  • Do not insert your Smart Plug into another Smart Plug.
  • Position the Smart Plug so that it is readily accessible and may be easily removed from the power socket.
  • The equipment must be connected to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.

One (1) Year Limited Warranty

Leedarson warrants this product (the "Product") against defects in materials and/or workmanship under normal usage within ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the original purchaser ("Warranty Period"). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, then as your sole remedy (and Leedarson's sole liability), Samsung will offer the following two options within 30 days following receipt of the returned Product:

  1. Repair the defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts.
  2. Replace the product with a new product that is functionally equivalent to the original.

A replacement product or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original Product. When a Product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced Product or part becomes Leedarson's property.
