READ ME FIRST

This adapter is designed for Android smartphones to use Android Auto wirelessly on a factory car multimedia system which has built-in wired Android Auto function.

Interface and Connector

The Ottocast A2AIR PRO adapter is a compact, rectangular device. One side features a USB Type-C power port. Another side has a small circular 'Smart button'.

Smart Button Functions:

• Click once while working: Disconnects the currently connected phone.
• Press and hold for 3 seconds then release: Switches the adapter to update mode.
• Press and hold for more than 15 seconds: Performs a factory reset, erasing all connection history.

Connection Diagram

The adapter connects to your car's USB port. There are two common connection types:

1. Using a Factory USB-A Port: A USB-A cable from the car's port connects to the adapter's Type-C port.
2. Using a Factory USB-C Port: A USB-C to Type-C cable connects the car's port directly to the adapter's Type-C port.

NOTE! The adapter should be plugged into the Android Auto-enabled USB port if there are multiple USB ports in your car.

Setting up Wireless Android Auto

1. Install Android Auto: Ensure Android Auto is installed on your smartphone. Then, enable the 'Wireless Android Auto' option within the Android Auto app settings.
2. Pair with Vehicle's Bluetooth: Pair your smartphone with your vehicle's Bluetooth system. This is typically done through the car's infotainment system settings.
3. Plug in the Adapter: Connect the Ottocast A2AIR PRO adapter into your vehicle's Android Auto-enabled USB port.
4. Pair with Adapter's Bluetooth: Continue to pair your smartphone with the adapter's Bluetooth, which will appear as [OTTO-xxxx]. After a few seconds, your phone will connect to Android Auto wirelessly.

Firmware Update

Firmware update is NOT recommended when every function works well.

1. If you are currently connected to Android Auto wirelessly, first disable Bluetooth on your phone and forget the Wi-Fi network associated with the adapter.
2. While the adapter is powered on, press and hold the Smart button for 3 seconds, then release. The LED indicator on the adapter will switch to a green light after 1-2 seconds, indicating it's in update mode.
3. On your phone, go to Wi-Fi settings, then 'Advanced settings' (or similar, depending on your phone). Tap on the adapter's Wi-Fi network ([OTTO-xxxx]) and ensure it is connected.
4. Open a smartphone browser and enter 192.168.1.101. On the displayed page, tap 'Update'. The page will show if a new version is available.

NOTE! During the update process, the blue and red LED indicators on the adapter will flash alternately. Wait for at least 30 seconds after the white indicator becomes solid. Then, disconnect and reconnect the adapter from the USB port to finalize the entire update.

How to Report an Issue

If you encounter any issues while using the adapter, you can report them online and send a feedback screenshot to support@ottocast.com. Ottocast aims to fix issues as soon as possible.

To submit an issue, follow steps 1-3 of the 'Firmware update' section to connect to the adapter's Wi-Fi. Then, enter 192.168.1.101 again in your smartphone browser. You will find a 'Problem Description' form with fields for 'Car Make' (e.g., Toyota), 'Model Name' (e.g., Camry XLE), 'Year' (e.g., 2020), and a detailed description of the problem. Fill in the details and submit.
