Product Overview

The Ottocast A2AIR Pro is a wireless adapter designed to enable Android smartphones to use Android Auto wirelessly on factory car multimedia systems that have a built-in wired Android Auto function.

Interface and Connector

The Ottocast A2AIR Pro adapter features a USB Type-C interface for connection and a smart button for various controls.

• Click once while the device is on: Disconnects the currently connected phone.
• Press and hold for three seconds, then release: Switches the device to update mode.
• Press and hold for more than 10 seconds: Initiates a factory reset, clearing all connection history.

The adapter can be connected to either a factory USB-A port or a factory USB Type-C port in your vehicle. In both scenarios, the adapter acts as an intermediary, converting the wired Android Auto connection to a wireless one.

Note: If your car has multiple USB ports, ensure the adapter is plugged into the USB port that is enabled for Android Auto.

Setting Up Wireless Android Auto

1. Install Android Auto: First, install the Android Auto application on your smartphone.
2. Enable Wireless Android Auto: Activate the "Wireless Android Auto" option within your Android Auto app settings.
3. Pair with Vehicle Bluetooth: Pair your smartphone with your vehicle's Bluetooth system.
4. Connect Adapter: Plug the Ottocast A2AIR Pro adapter into your vehicle's Android Auto-enabled USB port.
5. Pair with Adapter Bluetooth: Finally, continue to pair your smartphone with the adapter's Bluetooth, typically identified as "OTTO-xxxx".

After a few seconds, your smartphone will be wirelessly connected to Android Auto.

Firmware Update

Warning: Firmware updates are NOT recommended if the device is functioning correctly. Only proceed with an update if you are experiencing issues or instructed by support.

Update Procedure:

1. Prepare your phone: If you are currently connected to Android Auto wirelessly, first disable Bluetooth and forget the Wi-Fi network associated with the adapter on your phone.
2. Enter Update Mode: While the adapter is powered on, press and hold the smart button for three seconds, then release it. The LED indicator on the adapter will turn green after one or two seconds, indicating it's in update mode.
3. Connect via Wi-Fi Direct: On your phone, go to Wi-Fi settings > Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi direct. Tap on the network named "[OTTO-xxxx]" and ensure your phone is connected to it.
4. Access Update Page: Open your smartphone's web browser and enter the IP address 192.168.1.101. This will open the adapter's web interface.
5. Start Update: Tap the "Update" button on the webpage.

Note: During the update process, the blue and red LED indicators will flash alternately. Wait approximately 30 seconds until the white indicator becomes solid. To complete the update, disconnect and then reconnect the adapter from the USB port.
