What You Should Know About Coffee
Coffee Bean Quality
The freshness of coffee beans is the basis for an incomparable coffee experience. Always use fresh coffee beans.
Storing Coffee Beans
Do not fill the hopper with too many beans at once. Refill more frequently to maintain aroma. Store remaining beans in a cool, dark, airtight container for up to three weeks. Beans can also be frozen for up to three months.
Storing Ground Coffee
Grind only the amount of coffee needed for immediate use. Do not store ground coffee in the catch container for longer than 24 hours. If you have excess ground coffee, store it in a cool, dry, airtight, light-proof container.
Correct Grind Level
A helpful mnemonic: The finer the grind, the shorter the contact time with water, and vice versa. Espresso uses very fine grinds. Drip coffee makers and filter systems require medium grinds. French presses and cold brews need coarser grinds. If finely ground coffee remains in hot water too long (e.g., in drip or French press), it can become bitter. Use the symbols on the grind scale as a guide, starting with a medium setting. Adjust by 1-2 steps as needed. Remember that coffee type, preparation method, water hardness, and temperature also affect taste.

Preparation
[Warning: Danger of Electric Shock]: Never immerse the coffee grinder or power plug in water.
[Warning: Danger of Injury]: Before cleaning the appliance, unplug the power cord.
Clean the coffee grinder before first use to remove any manufacturing residues (see "Cleaning" chapter).
Setting the Grind Level
You can adjust the desired grind level continuously from 1 (fine grind) to 26 (coarse grind) before filling the coffee beans. This prevents individual beans from jamming the grinding mechanism.
The following values are for guidance only. The correct grind level for your specific coffee preparation method and taste is best determined through experimentation.
Diagram showing the grind scale from 1 to 26, with markings for different grind types:
- 1-6: Fine grind; suitable for espresso preparation.
- 10-14: Medium grind; suitable for regular drip coffee.
- 18-22: Coarse grind; suitable for French press or filter press pots.
Turn the entire coffee bean hopper until the mark points to the desired grind level.
Filling the Coffee Beans
- Remove the lid of the coffee bean hopper.
- Fill the coffee beans into the hopper.
- Replace the lid.
The maximum filling capacity of the bean hopper is approx. 150 g of coffee beans. The catch container holds approx. 85 g of ground coffee, depending on the grind level. Empty the catch container promptly.
Grinding Coffee
Grind the required amount of coffee according to the number of cups. The amount of ground coffee per cup is calculated for a medium grind (drip coffee). Coarser grinds (French press) may require less time, while finer grinds (drip coffee) may require slightly more. Experiment to find your optimal setting.
- Ensure the coffee bean hopper is correctly seated, the catch container is properly attached, and both lids are securely closed. A safety switch prevents the motor from starting if the bean hopper and/or catch container are not in place or not correctly attached, thus preventing injury from the rotating grinding mechanism.
- Plug the power cord into the socket.
- To turn on the grinder, switch the power button to position I.
- Turn the cup setting dial to the desired number of cups you wish to prepare.
- Press the start button [start button]. The coffee grinder will grind the coffee beans.
- Remove the catch container.
Enjoy your coffee with fresh aroma!
Cleaning
[Warning: Danger of Electric Shock]: Before cleaning the appliance, unplug the power cord from the socket.
[Warning: Property Damage]: The appliance must not be exposed to moisture. Protect the appliance from dripping and splashing water.
NOTE: Property Damage: Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
Disassembly and Cleaning of the Appliance
- Unplug the power cord from the socket.
- Remove the catch container from the appliance and take off its lid.
- Remove any remaining coffee beans from the coffee bean hopper.
Ensure all parts are completely dry before filling with new coffee beans!
Cleaning the Grinding Mechanism
Brush the grinding mechanism with the supplied cleaning brush. To thoroughly clean the grinding mechanism and remove any jammed coffee beans or foreign objects, remove the detachable hopper as follows:
- Tilt the handle [handle] upwards.
- Using slight force, twist the hopper counter-clockwise until it audibly clicks, and then lift it upwards.
Diagram showing the hopper being removed from the grinding mechanism.
- Clean the inside of the grinding mechanism with the cleaning brush. Remove any foreign objects and jammed coffee beans.
- Wipe the appliance housing with a damp cloth and then dry it with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Assembly of the Appliance
For correct assembly, remove all remaining beans from the grinding mechanism. All parts must be completely dry before reassembling the appliance.
Reassembling the Grinding Mechanism
- Insert the hopper into the grinding mechanism. It will only fit in a specific orientation. Note the [notch] on the grinding mechanism; it must align with the protrusions on the hopper.
- Twist the hopper slightly clockwise until it audibly and noticeably clicks into place.
Diagram showing the hopper being inserted and twisted into the grinding mechanism.
- Fold the handle [handle] down.
Attaching the Coffee Bean Hopper
- Attach the coffee bean hopper to the appliance. The mark on the coffee bean hopper must point to the [lock symbol].
- Turn the entire coffee bean hopper clockwise until the mark again points to the desired grind level.
To prevent injury from the rotating grinding mechanism, a safety switch prevents the motor from starting if the bean hopper and/or catch container are not in place or not correctly attached.
Finally...
- Attach the lid to the catch container.
- Place the catch container on the storage area.
The coffee grinder is now ready for operation.
