Product Overview
The Metra Network Controller is a sophisticated protocol converter designed to bridge the gap between Metra NET (CAN) networks and standard computer LAN (TCP/IP) networks. It facilitates seamless communication between various Metra devices and Metra Server software, ensuring efficient operation within a local area network.
This controller supports systems managing up to 60 devices on a Metra NET network. For larger installations, multiple Network Controllers can be interconnected via LAN. It offers flexible operating modes, including single (master) and dual (master/slave) configurations, providing redundancy and failover capabilities to maintain network integrity.
Additionally, the device features two external push-button inputs, enabling emergency opening functions for connected Metra lockers, enhancing security and accessibility.
Models and Protocols
Two primary models are available, distinguished by their Lantronix circuits and supported network protocols:
- NCTCP_001: Utilizes Lantronix XPort®, supporting HTTP and SMTP protocols.
- NCTCPP_001: Features Lantronix XPort® EDGE, offering enhanced support for HTTP(S), E-SMTP, and SNTP protocols.
