Getting Started
First Use or After a Long Period of Non-Use
Before first use or after a long period of non-use, it is recommended to rinse the system:
- Fill the water tank with fresh potable water (? [Water]).
- Place a cup under the coffee spout.
- Ensure the machine is plugged in and turned ON (▶️ [Power On]).
- Press the Espresso button (☕) and then the Lungo button (☕) to run water through the system.
- Empty the drip tray and used capsule container.
- Repeat the rinsing process.
Operation
Coffee Preparation
To prepare coffee:
- Ensure the machine is ON (▶️ [Power On]) and ready (✅ [Ready]).
- Insert a Nespresso capsule into the capsule slot.
- Close the lever.
- Place a cup under the coffee spout.
- Press the Espresso button (☕) for a short coffee (approx. 40 ml) or the Lungo button (☕) for a long coffee (approx. 110 ml).
- The machine will dispense coffee and then stop automatically.
Programming the Water Volume
You can customize the volume for Espresso and Lungo:
- Turn the machine ON (▶️ [Power On]).
- Press and hold the desired button (Espresso or Lungo ☕).
- Release the button when the desired coffee volume is reached.
- The machine will save this new volume for future use.
Energy Saving Mode
The machine automatically enters Energy Saving Mode (⚡ [Energy Saving]) after a period of inactivity (typically 9 minutes). The indicator lights will dim or turn off. Press any button to wake the machine.
Maintenance
Descaling
Descaling is recommended based on water hardness. The frequency depends on the water hardness level. Refer to the table below for guidance.

Use the Nespresso descaling kit or a suitable alternative. Follow the kit's instructions, which typically involve filling the water tank with the solution and running it through the machine, followed by rinsing with fresh water.
Cleaning
Regularly empty the drip tray and used capsule container. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Emptying the System
To empty the system (e.g., before storage or transport):
- Turn off the machine (⏹️ [Power Off]).
- Empty the drip tray and used capsule container.
- Press and hold the Espresso button (☕) for 3 seconds.
- Press and hold the Lungo button (☕) for 3 seconds.
- The system will be emptied of any remaining water.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues:
- Coffee flows very slowly: Descale the machine (?? [Descaling]). Ensure the capsule is correctly inserted.
- Capsule area is leaking: Check for proper capsule insertion and lever closure. If the issue persists, contact Nespresso support (? [Support Number]).
