System Wiring
The system wiring illustrates the connectivity of the WG-Z ZigBee Gateway:
- Internet Connectivity: 3G/4G/5G WiFi connects to a WiFi router, which then connects to a mobile phone.
- Cloud Services: Tuya cloud connects to the WiFi router. Amazon ECHO connects to Tuya cloud.
- Gateway Connection: The WG-Z Wireless Zigbee Gateway connects wirelessly to the WiFi router.
- Device Connections:
- WZ5 LED controller (for RGB+CCT strips) connects to the gateway within a 15m range.
- S1-B(WZ) Triac dimmer (for Dimmable LED lights) connects within a 30m range.
- SS-B(WZ) RF Switch (for Non-dimming LED lights) connects within a 30m range.
- L1(WZ) 0/1-10V dimmer (for 0-10V dimmable LED drivers) connects within a 30m range.
- Optional Control: Panel RF Remotes can also be connected.
Note: The specified distances are measured in spacious environments without obstacles. Actual distances may vary based on installation conditions.

icon in the upper right corner, select "Gateway Control", and then tap "Wireless Gateway (Zigbee)". - After successfully adding the gateway, click the "Gateway" icon on the home page and add other sub-devices.
- Ensure Amazon ECHO is powered on.
- Connect Amazon ECHO to the internet via the Amazon Alexa App.
- In the Alexa app menu, navigate to "Skills & Games".
- Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart", and tap "Enable" to activate the Skill.
- Enter your Smart Life App account and password, then tap "Link Now" to connect your Smart Life account.
- Once the Smart Life account is successfully linked, you can control sub-devices connected to the gateway using voice commands.
Notice for Applications
- If the gateway fails to connect to Wi-Fi, verify that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and that Bluetooth and location services are enabled. If problems persist, long press the reset key for 5 seconds until the indicator flashes rapidly.
- The gateway must remain connected to a power socket at all times during operation.
- For optimal and stable connection, it is recommended to install the gateway in a central location relative to all sub-devices. Position it 2-6 meters away from the Wi-Fi router. The distance between the gateway and sub-devices should not exceed 20 meters, and there should be no more than two walls between them.
- Avoid placing the gateway near metal obstructions or load-bearing walls that could interfere with the signal between the gateway and the router or sub-devices. Thicker solid walls or high-power electrical appliances (such as refrigerators, air conditioners, or electric heaters) located between the gateway and sub-devices can reduce the effective communication distance to approximately 3-5 meters.
- Your mobile phone must be connected to Wi-Fi before you can connect sub-devices to the gateway using the Tuya App.
- The maximum number of sub-devices that can be connected to a single gateway is 50.
