Get Started

Understand the EcoFlow STREAM Plug & Play Solar System

This microinverter enables the creation of an EcoFlow STREAM Plug & Play Solar System, transforming your balcony into a compact, self-sufficient power plant. The system comprises:

  1. Solar Panels: Absorb sunlight and generate direct current (DC) electricity. Use EcoFlow panels or compatible third-party panels meeting DC input requirements.
  2. EcoFlow STREAM Microinverter: Converts DC power from solar panels into grid-compliant AC power.
  3. Connection Cables: Link solar panels to the microinverter and the system to your home grid via an outlet or circuit breaker. Official EcoFlow cables are recommended.
  4. EcoFlow App: Allows control and monitoring of the PV system via your smartphone.
  5. Optional: EcoFlow STREAM AC Pro / Ultra / Pro: Stores surplus solar energy and discharges it to support home power during low solar generation or power outages, and supports grid charging during off-peak periods.

By setting up this system, the microinverter optimizes solar power to meet home appliance energy needs. Excess power is fed back into the grid, reducing electricity bills. Always check local regulations and consult a qualified electrician before setup to ensure safety and compliance.

Installation

Install the Microinverter

The microinverter should be installed on a stable surface, positioned for optimal cable routing and Wi-Fi signal reception. EcoFlow offers two mounting options: wall mounting or attachment to a solar panel. Detailed instructions are in the product packaging and at ecoflow.com/support/download/stream-microinverter.

  • Option 1 (Wall Mounting): Recommended accessory: Expansion screws with pipes (P6×35mm, included).
  • Option 2 (Solar Panel Attachment): Recommended accessory: EcoFlow PV Clamp.

Connect the Microinverter

After mounting, connect the necessary AC and DC power cables.

Application 1: Home Outlet Connection (European Region)

  1. Connect solar panels to the microinverter's PV terminals using specified EcoFlow PV cables.
  2. Connect the microinverter to a standard home outlet using a specified EcoFlow AC cable.

⚠️ Avoid touching a solar panel's positive (+) and negative (-) wires simultaneously.

Application 2: Home Branch Circuit Connection (United Kingdom Region)

  1. Power off the circuit breaker to disconnect grid power.
  2. Connect solar panels to the microinverter's PV terminals using specified EcoFlow PV cables.
  3. Connect the microinverter to a branch circuit breaker using a specified EcoFlow AC cable. Ensure PE and Neutral wires connect to the respective bars, and the Live wire connects to the terminal leading to the load side.

Important Installation Notes:

  • Professional installation by a qualified electrician is required.
  • Ensure power is switched off at the installation site before beginning.
  • Solar panels connected to the same PV input terminal must have identical electrical specifications.
  • Avoid touching solar panel positive (+) and negative (-) wires simultaneously.

Grounding Considerations

Proper grounding is crucial for safe operation. EcoFlow provides an AC cable with a grounding plug. Ensure it's connected to a properly installed and grounded outlet according to local codes. If unsure about grounding or if the plug doesn't fit, consult a qualified electrician. If installation sites have inadequate grounding, use the product's grounding terminal for proper grounding. Grounding work must be performed by a qualified electrician.
