Introduction
The WLS600 Water Leak Sensor is designed to detect the presence of water on a surface under the sensor, or across the contacts of the leads attached to the sensor. The sensor can be placed either horizontally or vertically as required by space constraints. The leads are attached to the sensor via a wall mount accessory. The WLS600 must be used with the Universal Gateway UG600/UGE600 and the SALUS Smart Home App.
Product Compliance
This product complies with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of the following EU Directives: RED 2014/53/EU and RoHS 2011/65/EU. Full text of the EU Declaration of Conformity is available on www.saluslegal.com.
Frequency: 2405-2480MHz; Power: <14dBm
Safety Information
Use in accordance with national and EU regulations. Use the device as intended, keeping it in dry condition. Product for indoor use only. Installation must be carried out by a qualified person in accordance with national and EU regulations.
Installation
Follow these steps to install the WLS600 Water Leak Sensor:
Step 1: Prepare the Sensor and Cable
Identify a suitable level surface for the sensor where water is likely to accumulate. Consider space constraints.
If the sensor itself is too wide for the desired location, the provided stand can be used to achieve a narrower profile.
For installations in tight spaces or areas with potential radio signal issues, the provided Sensor Cable is recommended.
Step 2: Install the Sensor Cable
If using the stand:
- Run the Sensor Cable to the desired location.
- Fasten the winged end of the Sensor Cable to the surface.
- Insert the square end of the Sensor Cable into the terminals on the stand.
- Screw down both terminals until the cable is firmly held in place.
- Mount the stand to the wall or other surface using the supplied double-sided adhesive pad or screws.
- Insert the Water Leak Sensor into the stand to begin operation.
If attaching the Sensor Cable directly (without stand):
- Run the Sensor Cable to the desired location.
- Fasten the winged end of the Sensor Cable to the surface.
- Screw down both terminals until the cable is firmly held in place.
Operation and Status
LED Indication
The sensor uses LED lights to indicate its status:
State | LED Indication |
---|---|
Power Up | Solid red |
Pairing Mode | 3 red flashes then pause |
App Pairing and Setup
To set up and pair the sensor with your SALUS Smart Home system:
- Remove the Face Plate from the sensor by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Pull the battery tab to start the pairing process. The LED should indicate pairing mode (3 red flashes).
- Open the SALUS Smart Home App on your smartphone or tablet.
- Navigate to the section for adding new equipment (e.g., "Connect equipment").
- Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to detect and add the WLS600 sensor.
- Once the sensor is detected and successfully added to the system, replace the Face Plate. Align the dots on the plate with those on the sensor and turn clockwise to secure it. Ensure the dots are fully aligned for a proper seal.
Dashboard Display
Within the SALUS Smart Home App, the sensor's status is displayed on the dashboard:
- No water leak: Indicates normal operation and no water detected.
- Water leak detected: Indicates that water has been detected by the sensor.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
To replace the battery:
- Grasp the battery from both ends and lift to remove the old battery from the sensor.
- Insert a new battery (CR2) into the sensor, following the correct polarity.
Factory Reset
To reset the sensor to factory defaults and re-enter pairing mode:
- Remove the battery.
- Press and hold the Tamper Switch while re-inserting the battery.
- Release the Tamper Switch when the LED turns on. The WLS600 will reset and enter pairing mode.
