Firmware Updates
Leica continuously works on the further improvement and optimization of your camera. Since many camera functions are entirely controlled by software, some of these improvements and additions to the functional scope can be installed retrospectively. Leica offers firmware updates at irregular intervals, which you can download from their website. Leica will notify you of any new updates once you have registered your camera.
There are two options for installing firmware updates:
- Conveniently via the Leica FOTOS app.
- Directly via the camera menu.
Finding the currently installed firmware version
Select 'Camera Information' in the main menu. The current firmware versions are displayed.

- Do not switch off the camera!
- Do not remove the memory card!
- Do not remove the rechargeable battery!
- Do not detach the lens!
Notes
- A warning message will appear if the battery is insufficiently charged. Recharge the battery and then repeat the process described above.

Automatic Switchover to AF Mode
The Leica Q3 will automatically toggle the AF mode from AFc to AFs for reliable focusing in low light conditions. The previously selected AF mode will then be changed in the menu. The AF mode selected for shooting is displayed in the header line.
Visual Description of Camera Display: The camera's display header shows the current settings. For example, it might display 'AFS AWB STD' followed by shooting parameters such as 'P 10500 F1.7 1/50s 9', indicating the Autofocus mode (AFS), Auto White Balance (AWB), Standard Picture Style (STD), ISO 10500, Aperture F1.7, Shutter Speed 1/50s, and a frame count of 9.
