Welcome
This manual provides essential information for operating your new Westfalia Feed Mill. It helps you utilize all functions, avoid misunderstandings, and prevent damage. Please read this manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
Overview
The feed mill consists of the following main components:
- Filling Bin (1): The upper part where ingredients are added.
- ON/OFF Switch (2): Used to turn the motor on and off.
- Motor Unit (3): Contains the motor and drives the milling mechanism.
- Quick Lock (4): Secures different parts of the unit.
- Collecting Bin (5): The lower part where the milled material is collected.
- Mesh Sieves (6, 7, 8): Interchangeable sieves with different hole diameters (1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm) to control the fineness of the grind.
- Dust Cover (9): Covers the filling bin to prevent spillage.

Safety Notes
Please observe the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage, and health impairments:
- Read and understand the manual before use. Do not operate if instructions are not understood.
- Ensure the mains voltage matches the rating on the type label.
- Persons with limited physical, sensory, or mental capabilities should only use the device under supervision and instruction from a qualified person.
- This is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children. Never leave the unit unsupervised when in use.
- The unit is intended for household and similar applications, not continuous professional operation.
- Wear hearing protection ? during operation.
- Use only for intended purpose: grinding grist, pulses, and other ingredients for animal feed.
- Do not mill other items, ingredients, or hazardous materials.
- Never operate the feed mill empty.
- Keep all parts and the work area clean.
- Operate only on a firm and safe surface.
- Operate only under supervision.
- Check for damage to the unit and electrical connections before use. Do not use if damaged.
- Ensure the unit is switched off before connecting/disconnecting the power plug.
- Do not operate if your reactivity is impaired by alcohol, medication, drugs, illness, or tiredness.
- Do not move or transport the feed mill while it is operating.
- Protect from moisture; do not immerse in water or other liquids.
- Keep away from potentially explosive locations.
- Consider the motor's slow-down time after switching off.
- Always switch off and disconnect the power plug after use, before cleaning, or during maintenance.
- In case of malfunction, switch off immediately and discontinue use.
- Do not carry the feed mill by the power cord. Keep the cord away from hot, sharp, or moving parts.
- Do not wear jewelry or loose clothing. Tie up long hair.
- Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Contact a qualified technician or customer support. Use only original replacement parts.
- The unit is designed for use up to 2000 m above sea level.
Operation
Setting-up the Feed Mill
- Select a suitable, dry, hard, and level work place.
- Position the feed mill at a sufficient distance from walls and other objects.
- Keep the feed mill dry. Ambient temperature: 0–40° C.
- Carefully unpack and keep packaging materials away from children (suffocation hazard).
Hints
- Use only pure grist without dirt or stones to avoid damaging the mill.
- Do not operate the feed mill empty.
- Use only dry grist.
- Do not re-mill already milled animal feed.
Safety Switches
The motor unit has two contact safety switches. The motor will not start if these switches are not fully pressed down. This is achieved by securely screwing on the sieve using the wing nuts.
Ensure the contact safety switches are not blocked by dust or dirt. Clean them if necessary.

Assembling and Operating
- Turn the motor unit (3) upside down. Mount the desired sieve (6, 7, or 8) onto the motor unit using the wing nuts. Tighten both wing nuts simultaneously and securely to ensure the contact safety switches are pressed down.
- Turn the motor unit upright and place it onto the collecting bin (5).
- Secure both parts using the quick locks (4).
- Place the filling bin (1) onto the motor unit. Secure it with the provided mounting material (washer, retainer ring, wing nut).
- Fill the grist into the filling bin and cover with the dust cover (9) to prevent spillage during milling.
- Insert the power plug into a wall socket and press the ON/OFF switch (2) to start the device. Wear hearing protection ? during operation.
- If the motor does not function, check that the wing screws are tightly screwed on, activating the contact safety switches.
- After finishing work, switch off the motor unit and remove the milled animal feed. Consider the motor's slow-down time.

Cleaning
- Always unplug the power plug before cleaning.
- Clean all parts after each use and before the next operation.
- Do not use water or aggressive cleaners. Use a dry or slightly damp cloth, or a soft brush.
Storage
- Store the feed mill in a dry place, protected from dust and dirt, away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children and persons in need of supervision.
