Safety Notes
Important: Please read all safety instructions carefully to avoid malfunctions, damage, or physical injury.
- Ensure the mains voltage matches the unit's rating plate.
- This unit is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities.
- Keep bystanders out of the working area and do not leave the hedge trimmer unattended after use.
- Use the hedge trimmer only for its intended purpose: cutting leaves, bushes, shrubs, and hedges. Do not cut thick branches or similar material.
- Do not use near flammable liquids or gases.
- The unit is not designed for continuous, professional use.
- Do not expose the hedge trimmer to rain. Do not operate in damp or wet conditions, or cut wet foliage. Do not work in the dark.
- Before use, check for damaged parts and do not use if damage is detected.
- Operate with the hand protection (5) attached. Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands on the handles.
- Wear suitable clothing: safety glasses ?, safety gloves ?, and hearing protection ?.
- Ensure a stable stance. If using ladders or scaffolds, ensure they are stable and cannot topple. Maintain balance while cutting.
- Keep the power cord away from the cutting area, oil, heat, and sharp edges.
- Never carry the trimmer by the cord. Always grasp the plug to unplug.
- Always fit the blade protection when carrying or storing the trimmer.
- Do not pull the trimmer by the cord; ensure it cannot get caught.
- Always switch off and disconnect from power mains when cleaning, maintaining, or not in use.
- Use only approved outdoor extension cables (e.g., H07RN-F 3x1.5 mm²). Consult an electrician if unsure.
- Use a socket with an RCD (Residual Current Device) with a rating < 30 mA. This is obligatory in Switzerland.
- The blades are very sharp. Do not touch the blades during operation. Keep fingers, hair, clothing, and other objects away from the blade bar.
- Do not attempt to remove cut material or hold material to be cut while the blades are running. Remove jammed material only when the unit is switched off and unplugged.
- Keep the blade bar sharp and clean. Replace defective or worn blades with original parts only.
- Do not force the trimmer; allow it to work at its designed rate. Take sufficient breaks.
- If the unit is damaged, do not use it. Have it repaired by a qualified professional or contact customer support. Do not attempt self-repair.

Operation
Before First Use
Remove the hedge trimmer and accessories from packaging. Keep packaging materials away from children due to suffocation risk.
- Form a loop with the extension cord and pass it through the opening in the handle.
- Hook the extension cord onto the cable run (4).
Adjusting the Working Position
The motor housing can be rotated 90° in both directions, snapping into place at 45° and 90°. To rotate, push the release button (2) forward and turn the housing left or right until it audibly locks. Operation is not possible with the motor housing unlocked.
Operating the Trimmer
- Connect the trimmer's plug to the extension cord and a grounded wall socket.
- Remove the blade bar protection (7).
- To start: Press and hold the auxiliary safety switch on the auxiliary handle (1), then press the ON/OFF switch on the handle (3).
- Always hold the unit firmly with both hands: one on handle (3), the other on auxiliary handle (1).
- To switch off, release both switches.
- Before adjusting the angle of inclination, always disconnect from power mains.
Hints on Trimming Hedges
- Before cutting, remove thick branches or similar material. Ensure no small animals are hidden in bushes/hedges.
- Observe local rest periods to avoid disturbances.
- For significant trimming, cut in two passes.
- To achieve a straight cut, set the desired height and stretch a string along the hedge. Guide the blades at a 10°-15° angle to the hedge.
- Trim hedges in a trapezoidal shape, cutting from bottom to top.
- Round the top edges of the hedge.
- Finally, trim the bottom edges.
- Dispose of cut materials properly.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Oil the blade bar with suitable spray after cleaning and before next use.
- Always disconnect from power mains before cleaning or maintenance.
- Remove dirt from the blade bar with a scrubbing brush or small brush.
- Do not use harsh detergents or aggressive chemicals on the housing. Use a lightly moistened cloth. Clean ventilation slots with a soft brush.
- Store the hedge trimmer in a dry, dust-free, and frost-protected place.
- When not in use or storing, always slide the blade bar protection over the blade bar.
