Maytag Dryer Quick Start Guide
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Fire Hazard
No washer can completely remove oil. Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it (including cooking oils). Items containing foam, rubber, or plastic must be dried on a clothesline or by using an Air Cycle. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or fire.
WARNING: Explosion Hazard
Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away from dryer. Do not dry anything that has ever had anything flammable on it (even after washing). Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, explosion, or fire.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS, located in your appliance's Owner's Manual, before operating this appliance.

Cycle Guide - Normal Cycle
Not all cycles and settings are available on all models.
Items to Dry: | Cycle: | Temperature: | Description: |
---|---|---|---|
Work clothes, medium-weight fabrics, sheets | Normal | Medium | Automatic cycles provide the best drying in the shortest time. Drying time varies based on fabric type, load size, and dryness setting. Select a drying temperature based on the fabrics in your load. If unsure, select the lower setting. |
NOTE: Government energy certifications were based on the Timed Dry Cycle, Maximum Drying Temperature, and Maximum Dry Time Settings. The as-shipped defaults of Auto Dry/Normal, Medium Temperature, were used.
NOTE: Adjust the dryness setting (e.g., Very Dry, Less Dry) for future loads if the current load is not as dry as you prefer.
Button Descriptions:
- 1. Wrinkle Prevent Option (on some models): Periodically tumbles and fluffs the load to help keep wrinkles from forming if the load cannot be removed promptly. Can be turned On or Off at any time before the cycle ends.
- 2. CYCLE CONTROL KNOB: Selects available drying cycles. Turn to choose a cycle for your laundry load.
- 3. TEMPERATURE: Selects the drying temperature (Low, Medium, High) based on fabric type.
- 4. CYCLE SIGNAL/PUSH TO START: The Cycle Signal produces an audible sound when the drying cycle is finished. Press the knob to start the dryer.
