WARNING:
- Fire Hazard: No washer can completely remove oil. Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it (including cooking oils). Items containing foam, rubber, or plastic must be dried on a clothesline or by using an Air Cycle. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or fire.
- Explosion Hazard: Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away from dryer. Do not dry anything that has ever had anything flammable on it (even after washing). Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, explosion, or fire.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS, located in your appliance's Owner's Manual, before operating this appliance.
Control Panel and Features
*Not all features, cycles, and options are available on all models. Appearance may vary.
- CYCLE KNOB: Turn knob to select desired cycle.
- AUTO DRYING CYCLES: Use Auto Dry for better fabric care and energy savings. The dryer senses moisture in the load or air temperature and shuts off when the load reaches the selected dryness level. Note that you cannot adjust the time with these cycles. At the end of the drying cycle, the dryer enters a "Wrinkle Prevent" phase which keeps clothes tumbling intermittently with no heat to help prevent wrinkles from setting in.
- TIMED DRYING CYCLES: In these cycles, you can specify the drying time. Time options range from 20 minutes to 70 minutes. At the end of the drying cycle, the dryer enters a "Wrinkle Prevent" phase which keeps clothes tumbling intermittently with no heat to help prevent wrinkles from setting in.
- AIR ONLY CYCLES (No Heat): These cycles do not use any heat and you can specify the drying time. Time options available range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.
- START/CYCLE SIGNAL: Push the Push to Start/Cycle Signal knob to start the selected cycle.
- CYCLE SIGNAL: Use this option to turn the end of drying cycle signal on or off. When cycle signal is set to on, the dryer will play a tone at the end of the drying cycle, before entering the "Wrinkle Prevent" phase. During the wrinkle prevent phase, the tone will continue to sound intermittently. Open the door anytime during this phase to take out your clothes and stop the tone.
- TEMPERATURE: Turn the Temperature Knob to modify the cycle's available temperature. (Low, Medium and High)
NOTE: These clothes dryer's Government energy certifications were based on the Timed Dry Cycle, Maximum Drying Temperature and Maximum Dry Time Settings. The as-shipped defaults of AUTO DRY/Normal, Medium Temp, Cycle Signal off, were used.
Choosing the Right Cycle
A cycle guide for your dryer can be found online at www.maytag.com. The document will help identify which cycle to choose for various load types as well as the default cycle options. For example, Maytag recommends using the NORMAL cycle with Medium temperature for cottons, linens and mixed-garment loads.
Steps to Operate:
- Clean lint screen
- Load clothes
- Select the desired cycle for your load*
- Push the Cycle Signal Button
*Not all cycles, settings or options are available with all models.
IMPORTANT: Retain this guide for future use.
