2 Usage and Maintenance
2.1 Handling Precautions
The measuring tip of the electrode is only 3mm. Please be very careful during usage and transportation to prevent shock and breakage.
2.2 Measuring Procedure
When measuring, unscrew the bottle cap, pull out the electrode, and rinse it with deionized water. After use, place the electrode back into the bottle and screw the cap tight.
Important: Before pulling out or putting back the electrode, make sure to fully loosen the blue cap on the storage sleeve. This ensures the electrode can move in and out smoothly.
2.3 Reference Solution Pressure
Prior to measurement, remove the rubber plug to maintain pressure of the reference solution. This ensures a consistent flow rate of the reference solution and stable potentials of the junction.
2.4 Refilling Reference Solution
After a period of usage, the reference solution level may drop. Whenever the level falls to half the height of the electrode, add 3M KCl solution to the refilling hole using a syringe or pipette.
2.5 Connector Maintenance
The connector of the electrode should be kept clean and dry. If contaminated, clean it with medical cotton and absolute alcohol, then blow dry to prevent short circuits and slow electrode reactions.
2.6 Soaking and Storage
The electrode's measuring tip should be soaked in the soaking bottle containing storage solution to keep the membrane hydrated and the junction unblocked. Clean the bottle and replace the storage solution if it becomes turbid or mildewed. Do not immerse the electrode in pure water or buffer solution for extended periods.
2.7 Replacement Recommendation
After one year of use, Apera Instruments recommends replacing the electrode to ensure the best accuracy.
3 Warranty
Apera Instruments warrants this electrode to be free from defects in material and workmanship. The company agrees to repair or replace, free of charge, any product malfunctioned or damaged due to Apera Instruments' responsibility for a period of six months from the date of purchase. This warranty period is for free service and does not represent the service life of the tester or electrodes.
This limited warranty does not cover damages resulting from:
- Transportation or storage
- Improper use
- Failure to follow product instructions or perform preventive maintenance
- Modifications
- Combination or use with unauthorized products, materials, processes, or systems
- Unauthorized repair
- Normal wear and tear
- External causes such as accidents, abuse, or events beyond reasonable control.
