Important Before Mounting
- Refer to the mounting drawings on page 4.
- It is recommended to perform the installation with at least 2 people for easier handling.
- Ensure the cabinet has the correct dimensions for the unit.
Installation Steps
- Ensure the power circuit to which the unit is connected is switched off. [Diagram shows a hand turning off a breaker].
- Check that all hood accessories are present in the packaging.
- ⚠️ Warning: Handle the hood only by the front to prevent glass damage. [Diagram shows a hand holding the hood from the front with a warning symbol].
- Check that all hob parts are present in the packaging.
- For built-in height G ≥ 760mm: Make the appropriate cut-out in the cabinet bottom plate for surface mounting (5a) or flushline mounting (5b).
- For built-in height G < 760mm: If the cabinet height plus worktop height is less than 760mm, a larger cut-out is needed in the cabinet bottom plate. The optional extension kit 1821.400 can be used; follow its manual and then return to step 8.
- Measure the height (Y1, Y2) from the hob base plate to the supporting surface for the hob. Define Surface mount (L) as the top worktop surface and Flush mount (R) as the milled edge in the worktop.
- Set the height (Y) using the levelling feet. Measure from the top surface of the hood to the underside of the levelling feet. Measure height (V) from the underside of the hood to the underside of the levelling feet (required for the vertical bend).
- Secure the position of the levelling feet with the lock nut.
- Measure the height (Q) from the base plate to the ground position of the ductwork.
- Cut the vertical bend piece to size X = V + Q.
- Slide the vertical bend into the outlet piece below the hood.
- Slide the hood guides fully inward and secure their position to prevent damage to the worktop.
- Lift the hood through the worktop cut-out into the cabinet. ⚠️ Warning: Handle the hood only by the front to prevent glass breakage. ⚠️ Warning: This action is best performed by 2 people.
- Place the positioning guides (1821135) between the worktop cut-out and the hood. Position the side and rear edge of the hood against these guides.
- Set the adjustment bolt in the center of its range to allow for fine adjustment of the hood later.
- Slide the hood guides fully against the side wall of the cabinet. Slide the mounting brackets between the bolt and lock nut of the guide until they are in the center of the slot. Secure this position with screws n° 1821153. Perform this action on both the left and right sides.
- For 90-100cm Cabinets: Secure the position of the guides.
- For 120cm Cabinets: Move the screws to the outermost position and secure the guides.
- Level the hood horizontally left and right by moving it forwards or backwards at the bottom. Use a short spirit level (≤ 30cm) and place it on the indicated surfaces.
- Secure the position of both levelling feet in the cabinet using plates n° 1821043 and screws n° 1821153.
- Adjust the position as necessary using the adjustment bolts on the guides, ensuring minimal clearance between the hood and the positioning guides.
- Remove the positioning guides.
- Check the hood height with a ruler; it MUST be level with the worktop (A surface mount) or the milled edge (B flush mount). Adjust levelling feet if necessary.
- Apply waterproof tape (approx. 2mm) to the bottom edge of the hob glass. ⚠️ Warning: Do not apply sealant between the bottom of the hob and the worktop.
- Place the induction hob onto the hood, ensuring the glass cut-out is centered with the hood's side profiles. Carefully place the upper glass with its pins into the provided cut-outs in the hood. ⚠️ Warning: Perform this action carefully to prevent glass damage and scratches.
- Surface Mount: Slide the hob until the spacing around the tower top glass and cut-out is even. Flushline Mount: Adjust the hood's position (front, back, left, right) until the spacing around the tower top glass and cut-out is even (refer to steps 18, 21).
- Secure the hob to the hood using the four screws n° 1821254. ⚠️ Warning: Tighten these bolts finger tight only; do not use a power screwdriver.
- Adjust the tower height relative to the hob's top surface as needed. Turn the bolt with a 10mm wrench counter-clockwise to raise the tower and clockwise to lower it.
- Connect the hob cable connector to the hood first. ⚠️ Warning: Ensure the connector is inserted in the correct direction. Then, connect the hob power supply connector to the hood.
- Hood: Connect the plug to the mains supply. Hob: Connect the hob's power cable according to the relevant connection diagram.
- Optional Recirculation Built-in Box: Connect the built-in box to the hood's outlet, using optional fittings if necessary.
- Optional Duct Out: Use optional fittings to connect to external ductwork.
- Switch on the unit's power circuit.
- Keep the control knob pressed for 3 seconds. If the 4 LEDs on the control flash directly, the tower's safety system is activated.
- You can manually turn the tower up using a flat screwdriver. Carefully remove the top glass from the tower and insert the screwdriver into the spindle recess in the center of the tower. Turn the tower fully upwards until the safety switch (as shown in step 36) is visible.
- The tower now moves to its highest position (30 cm).
- Remove the safety sticker from the tower. The 4 LEDs on the control will flash.
- Slide both lower collection trays (1821039) into the hood.
- Place the collection security (1821159) in the hood, positioned against the center of the hood.
- Slide both upper collection trays (1821107) into the hood.
- Place both grease filters in the hood onto the fall protection.
- Verify the correct placement of the grease filters using the positioning tab.
- Place the front glass onto the hood tower. Position the glass tabs in the tower's recess and tilt the glass towards the magnets until it snaps into place.
- Press the control knob to re-initialize the tower.
- The tower now moves to the closed position.
- Mode Selection: The device is set to recirculation mode by default. For Duct Out mode, press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The adjacent LED will blink 3 times to confirm the setting. Repeat these actions to switch back to recirculation mode; the LED will then stay on for 3 seconds.
- Optional: Installation of I/O Module n° 990036: Remove the cover from the connection connector.
- Plug the I/O module connection cable into the connector. (Refer to manual 990036 for I/O module).
