Installation Steps
Step 1: Ensure the power circuit to which the unit is connected is switched off. (Diagram shows a power symbol with a diagonal line through it, indicating 'off' or 'do not').
Step 2: Check that all hood accessories are present in the packaging. (Diagram shows various parts laid out).
Step 3: Check that all hood parts are present in the packaging. (Diagram shows various parts laid out).
Step 4: Check that all hob parts are present in the packaging. (Diagram shows hob components).
Step 5a: Built-in height G ≥ 760mm surface mounting: Make cut-out in bottom plate cabinet according to the drawing.
Step 5b: Built-in height G ≥ 760mm flushline mounting: Make cut-out in bottom plate cabinet according to the drawing.
Step 6: Built-in height G < 760mm: If cabinet height + worktop < 760mm, a cut-out must be made in the cabinet's bottom plate to install the hood. The extension kit 1821.400 can be used for this. Follow the steps described in the corresponding installation manual of the extension kit, then continue from step 8. (Diagram shows a cabinet with a cutout).
Step 7: Measure the height (Y1 and Y2) from the base plate to the hob glass support surface. Surface mount (L) = Top worktop surface. Flush mount (R) = Milled edge in worktop. (Diagram shows measurements on a cabinet).
Step 8: Set the height (Y) using the adjustable feet. Measure from the top surface of the hood to the underside of the adjustable feet. Measure the height (V) from the underside of the hood to the underside of the adjustable feet (needed for the bend piece size). (Diagram shows measurement points).
Step 9: Secure the position of the adjustable feet with the lock nut.
Step 10: Measure the height (Q) from the base plate to the ground position for the ductwork.
Step 11: Cut both bend pieces to size X = (V+Q) -5mm.
Step 12: Slide both bend pieces into the outlet piece at the bottom of the hood.
Step 13: Slide the hood guides fully inward and secure this position to prevent damage to the worktop.
Step 14: Lift the hood through the worktop cut-out into the cabinet. ⚠️ Warning: Handle the hood only from the front to prevent glass breakage of the tower. ⚠️ Warning: This action is best performed by 2 people.
Step 15: Place the positioning guides (42120035) between the worktop cut-out and the hood. Position the side and rear edge of the hood against these two guides.
Step 16: Set the adjustment screw in the middle of its range to allow for fine adjustment of the hood later.
Step 17: Slide the hood guides fully against the side wall of the cabinet. Slide the mounting brackets between the bolt and the lock nut of the guide until they are in the center of the slot. Secure this position with the supplied screws. Perform this action on both the left and right.
Step 18: Secure the position of the guides with the black screws.
Step 19: Level the hood horizontally on both the left and right by moving the bottom part forwards or backwards. Use a short spirit level (≤30cm) and place it on the indicated surfaces.
Step 20: Secure the position of both adjustable feet in the cabinet using the plates n° 1821043 and screws n° 1821153.
Step 21: If necessary, adjust the position using the adjustment screw on the guides so that there is minimal clearance between the hood and the positioning guides. The positioning guides must have minimal play between the worktop cut-out and the hood.
Step 22: Remove the positioning guides. ⚠️ Warning: Perform the following action carefully to prevent glass breakage.
Step 23: Check the height of the hood with a ruler; it MUST be level with the worktop (surface mount) or the milled edge (flush mount). Adjust the height if necessary using the adjustable feet.
Step 24: Apply the waterproof tape 2mm from the edge to the underside of the hob glass. If necessary, remove a central piece of the tape from the back of the hob if it would not be completely flat at the back during installation.
Step 25: Place the induction hob onto the hood, ensuring the opening in the glass is centered with the side profiles of the tower in the hood. ? Do not apply sealant between the bottom of the hob and the worktop.
Step 26: Carefully place the upper glass into the provided recesses of the hood. Perform the above action carefully to prevent glass damage and scratches.
Step 27: Surface mount: Slide the hob until the opening around the tower's top glass is aligned with the hob's cutout. Flush mount: Adjust the hood's position (front, back, left, and right) until the opening around the tower's top glass is aligned with the hob's cutout (see steps 18, 21).
Step 28: Secure the hob position to the hood with the 6 screws n° 1821247. Tighten these bolts by hand only.
Step 29-30: If necessary, adjust the height of the tower relative to the hob glass. Turn the bolt counter-clockwise with a 10mm wrench to raise the tower, and clockwise to lower it.
Step 31: First, connect the hob's connector to the hood.
Step 32: Hood: Connect the plug to the mains supply. Hob: Connect the hob's power cable according to the relevant connection diagram. (Diagrams show wiring for 230V 1N~, 400V 2L/2N~, 400V 2N~, 400V 3N~ configurations with color codes for wires like BN, BK, BU, GY, GN/YE).
Optional: The hob can be set with a power limitation; see the chapter "Power Limitation Induction Hob".
Step 33a: Recirculation built-in box option: Connect the built-in box to the hood's outlet, using optional fittings if necessary.
Step 33b: Exhaust option: Use optional fittings to connect the hood to the external ductwork.
Step 34: Switch the unit's power circuit on.
Step 35: Keep the [power button] pressed for 3 seconds. If the 4 LEDs on the control flash directly, the tower's safety system is activated. You can manually turn the tower up using a flat screwdriver. Remove the top glass from the tower carefully and insert the screwdriver into the spindle's recess in the center of the tower. Now, turn the tower fully up until the safety switch, as shown in step 36, is visible.
Step 36: The tower now moves to its highest position (30cm).
Step 37: Remove the safety sticker from the tower. The 4 LEDs on the control will flash.
Step 38: Slide both lower collection trays (n° 42120039) into the hood.
Step 39: Place the collection security (n° 42120026) in the hood. It should connect against the center of the hood.
Step 40: Slide both upper collection trays (n° 1821107) into the hood.
Step 41: Place both grease filters in the hood onto the fall protection.
Step 42: Verify the correct placement of the grease filters using the positioning tab.
Step 43: Place the front glass onto the hood tower. Position the glass tabs in the tower's recess and tilt the glass towards the magnets until it snaps into place.
Step 44: Press the [adjust button] to re-initialize the tower.
Step 45: The tower now moves to the closed position.
Step 46: Recirculation: The appliance is set to recirculation mode by default. Exhaust: Set the appliance to exhaust mode by pressing the combination of the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The LED next to it will blink 3 times to confirm the setting. Repeat these actions for recirculation mode; the LED will be on for 3 seconds.
Step 47 (Optional): Installation of I/O module n° 990036: Remove the cover from the connection connector.
Step 48 (Optional): Connect the I/O module connection cable to the connection connector. (See manual 990036 I/O module).
Power Limitation Induction Hob
The hob is equipped with an adjustable power limitation. If the power level on two zones exceeds the maximum power, the last selected cooking zone will be maintained, and the other cooking zone will be automatically reduced. The display of this zone will flash first, then the level is automatically reduced to the highest appropriate position.
This restriction is set at the factory to 7400W (32A) on the 4 zones hob reference 42110 and on 10400W (48A) for the 5 zones hob reference 42120. This power limit can be adjusted if required.
Configuration Procedure:
- Before starting the procedure to change the power limitation:
- Ensure no pots or pans are on the cooking zone(s).
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains by removing the fuse or switching off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the appliance to the mains.
- Start the procedure within 2 minutes of reconnecting the appliance.
- Ensure all cooking zones are switched off.
- Do not press the [power button].
Steps:
- Press and hold the [power button].
- A '5' appears in each display.
- With a finger of the other hand, press the [adjust button] successively and quickly (in less than 2 seconds), starting from the front right area and turning counter-clockwise (1 -> 2 -> 3 (only 42120) -> 4 -> 5), then release the button. A double "beep" indicates an operating error. In this case, repeat the operation from step 1.
