Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed:

WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, injury to persons or exposure to excessive microwave energy:

  1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  2. Read and follow the specific "PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY" on page 3.
  3. This appliance must be grounded. Connect only to a properly grounded outlet. See "GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS" on page 4.
  4. Install or locate this appliance only in accordance with the provided installation instructions.
  5. Do not heat whole eggs or sealed containers (e.g., closed glass jars) in this oven as they may explode.
  6. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapors. This oven is designed to heat, cook, or dry food, not for industrial or laboratory use.
  7. Close supervision is necessary when used by children.
  8. To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity:
    • Do not overcook food. Attend appliance carefully when paper, plastic, or other combustible materials are placed inside for cooking.
    • Remove wire twist-ties from paper or plastic bags before placing in oven.
    • If materials inside ignite, keep oven door closed, turn oven off, and disconnect the power cord or shut off power at the fuse or circuit breaker panel.
    • Do not use the cavity for storage. Do not leave paper products, cooking utensils, or food in the cavity when not in use.
  9. Liquids, such as water, coffee, or tea, can be overheated beyond the boiling point without appearing to boil due to surface tension. Visible bubbling or boiling may not be present when the container is removed. This can result in very hot liquids suddenly boiling over when a spoon or other utensil is inserted. To reduce the risk of injury:
    • Do not overheat the liquid.
    • Stir the liquid both before and halfway through heating.
    • Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks.
    • After heating, allow the container to stand in the microwave oven for a short time before removing it.
    • Use extreme care when inserting a spoon or other utensil into the container.
  10. DO NOT heat oil or fat for deep-frying.
  11. Pierce foods with heavy skins (e.g., potatoes, squash, apples) before cooking.
  12. Stir or shake the contents of feeding bottles and baby jars, and check the temperature before serving to avoid burns.
  13. Cooking containers may become hot due to heat transferred from the food. Potholders may be needed.
  14. Do not cover or block any openings on the appliance.
  15. Do not store or use this appliance outdoors. Do not use near water (e.g., kitchen sink, wet basement, swimming pool).
  16. Do not operate if the cord or plug is damaged, or if the appliance is not working properly or has been damaged or dropped.
  17. Do not immerse cord or plug in water. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not let cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
  18. Use only thermometers specifically designed for microwave ovens.
  19. Do not operate any heating or cooking appliance beneath this appliance.
  20. Ensure the glass tray and roller ring are in place when operating the oven.
  21. Service should only be performed by qualified personnel. Contact the nearest authorized service facility.

Precautions to Avoid Possible Exposure to Excessive Microwave Energy

  1. Do not operate the oven with the door open, as this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. Do not defeat or tamper with safety interlocks.
  2. Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door, or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
  3. Do not operate the oven if it is damaged, especially if the door is bent, hinges/latches are broken/loosened, or door seals/sealing surfaces are damaged.
  4. The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.

Installation Guide

  1. Remove all packing materials and accessories. Examine the oven for damage. If damaged, do not operate and contact qualified service personnel.
  2. Select a level surface providing adequate ventilation. Allow 3 inches of open space on the sides and back, and 12 inches above. Do not place items on top or remove the legs.
  3. Place the microwave as far as possible from radios and televisions to avoid interference.
  4. Plug the microwave into a grounded household outlet. Ensure voltage and frequency are compatible with the outlet.
  5. Do not install over a range cook top or other heat-producing appliance, as heat can damage the microwave and void the warranty.

Grounding Instructions

This appliance must be grounded. Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock.

Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if grounding instructions are not understood or if doubt exists.

Power Supply Cord: A short cord is provided to reduce risks of entanglement or tripping. Longer cord sets or extension cords may be used if care is exercised. Ensure the cord's rating is adequate and the cord is arranged so it won't drape over the counter or table where it can be pulled on or tripped over.

Note: Consult a qualified electrician or service person for questions about grounding or electrical instructions. The manufacturer or dealer is not liable for damage or injury resulting from failure to observe electrical connection procedures.

Radio or TV Interference: If interference occurs, check if the microwave is on a different circuit, relocate the radio or TV, or check the receiving antenna. This device complies with part 18 of the FCC Rules.
