User and Installation Manual

Safety Instructions

Keep this manual for future reference. Note your hob's serial number for after-sales service.

⚠️ Hot Surfaces: The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Avoid touching heating elements.

Keep children under 8 years of age away from the appliance unless continuously supervised.

⚠️ Use only manufacturer-approved hob guards. Inappropriate guards can cause accidents.

? Fire Hazard: Unattended cooking with fat or oil is dangerous and may result in fire. NEVER use water to extinguish a fire; switch off the appliance and cover the flame with a lid or fire blanket.

? Danger of Fire: Do not store items on the cooking surfaces.

? Ventilation: Gas cooking produces heat, moisture, and combustion products. Ensure the kitchen is well-ventilated, especially during use. Prolonged intensive use may require additional ventilation. Consult a professional for ventilation solutions.

? Purpose: This appliance is for cooking only. Do not use for other purposes, such as room heating.

⚠️ Broken Glass: If the glass surface breaks, immediately shut off all burners and electrical heating elements, isolate the appliance from power supply, do not touch the surface, and do not use the appliance.

This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, if they are supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the hazards. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.

? Supervision: Cooking processes must be supervised. Keep children away from cooking zones while in operation or switched off if residual heat indicators are on, to prevent burns.

This appliance is not intended to be operated by external timers or remote control systems.

Do not stare directly into halogen lamp hob elements if present.

Electrical Connection: Use a plug and socket rated for the appliance's voltage, current, and load, with a functional earth connection (yellow-green wire). Installation must be done by a qualified professional. Ensure the socket or omnipolar breaker is accessible.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified personnel to avoid hazards. The earth conductor (yellow-green) must be longer than 10 mm. The cable section must be appropriate for the hob's power consumption (indicated on the rating plate). Use cable type HO5V2V2-F.

Do not place metallic objects (knives, forks, spoons, lids) on the hob; they can heat up.

Do not place aluminum foil or plastic pans on heating zones.

Clean the hob after every use to prevent dirt and grease build-up, which can cause smoke, odors, and fire risks.

Never use steam or high-pressure spray for cleaning.

Do not touch hot zones during or shortly after use.

Never cook food directly on the glass ceramic hob.

Always use appropriate cookware. Place pans centrally on the burner.

Do not place anything on the control panel.

Do not use the hob as a working surface or cutting board.

Do not store heavy items above the hob.

Do not use the hob for storage.

Do not slide cookware across the hob.

Installation Instructions

1.1 Building In

The hob can be installed in worktops resistant to 100°C with a thickness of 25-45 mm. Refer to Figure 2 for cut-out dimensions.

If there is an accessible space below the hob, insert a dividing wall made of insulating material (e.g., wood) (Figure 3).

Clearances:

  • Side cabinets: Minimum 15 cm.
  • Rear wall: Minimum 60 mm for 60 cm hobs (3-4 gases), minimum 70 mm for 75 cm hobs (5 gases).
  • Overhead units/hoods: Minimum 70 cm (Figure 4).

Use a wood panel for drawers below the hob to prevent high temperatures caused by air recirculation.

The hob is secured using the supplied fixing clamps.

If a 60 cm hob is installed above an oven without fan cooling, create ventilation openings (at least 300 cm²) as shown in Figure 5. 75 cm hobs require fan-cooled ovens.

1.2 Suitable Location

Install the appliance in accordance with current regulations and in a well-ventilated space.

? Ensure local gas supply conditions (type and pressure) are compatible with the appliance's settings.

This appliance is not connected to a combustion products evacuation device. Ensure good ventilation by keeping natural air passages open or installing an extractor hood.

2.1 Electrical Connection

For U.K. Only: This appliance must be earthed. Connect to a suitably rated spur point; a 3-pin 13A plug/socket is not suitable. A double pole switch and appropriate fuse protection are required.

General Connection: Check the rating plate for voltage and input suitability. Ensure the earthing system is correct. Wiring: Connect Green & Yellow wire to Earth, Blue wire to Neutral, and Brown wire to Live.

Use a cable of type HO5V2V2-F with appropriate section. The earth wire must be longer than live/neutral wires.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified service agent.

If the appliance is not fitted with a plug, means for disconnection (full pole separation) must be incorporated into the fixed wiring.

2.2 Gas Connection

This must be carried out by qualified personnel. Disconnect electricity before starting.

Check the rating plate for the type of gas the hob is designed for and adjust if necessary.

Use pressure regulators compliant with national standards for LPG.

Use only compliant pipes and seals.

For connections, use cylindrical or conical fittings as shown in Figure 8. Ensure flexible hoses do not exceed 2 meters and are protected from damage.

Follow the assembly sequence (Figure 6): A (1/2 Male Adaptor), B (Seal), C (1/2 Female Gas Adaptor). Tighten joints securely.

? Perform a final leak check using soapy solution ONLY. NEVER use a flame.

Operation and Maintenance

2.3 Adapting Hob to Different Gas Types

Remove grids and burners. Unscrew the injector using a 7mm hexagonal spanner and replace it with one suitable for the gas type (refer to gas type table).

2.4 Regulating the Minimum Flame

After lighting, turn the control knob to the minimum setting and remove it. Adjust the regulating screw (Figure 9) for a flame of approximately 3-4 mm. For LPG, turn the screw clockwise to its end stop. Replace the gas rating plate with one suitable for the new gas type.

3. Use of Hob - User Instructions

This appliance is for domestic cooking only. Improper use is dangerous.

Ensure burner grids are correctly centered on the burners.

3.1 Using the Gas Burner

Ensure burners and caps are correctly positioned.

Ignition: Push and turn the knob anticlockwise to the ignition symbol (☆). Sparks will continue as long as the knob is pressed.

If the burner does not ignite within 5 seconds, turn the knob to the OFF position and repeat.

Power Outage: Light the burner with a match or taper. Press and turn the control knob anticlockwise to the ignition symbol (☆).

Wait a few seconds after ignition before releasing the knob (valve delay).

Adjust the gas valve to the desired position.

The appliance has a safety valve that stops gas flow if the flame extinguishes. If the flame goes out, turn the knob to OFF, wait at least 1 minute, then repeat the ignition procedure.

General Advice

For best results, use flat-bottomed cookware. Pan size should match the burner size (Table A).

For smaller containers, adjust the burner so the flame does not overlap the pan base. Do not use cookware with concave or convex bases.

⚠️ If a burner extinguishes accidentally, turn the knob to OFF and wait 1 minute before attempting to re-ignite.

If gas taps become stiff, they may need lubrication by a qualified service engineer.

4. Maintenance and Cleaning

Ensure the appliance is cool and power is disconnected before cleaning.

Do not use abrasive, corrosive, bleaching agents, or acids. Avoid acids/alkalis (lemon, vinegar) on enamelled, varnished, or stainless steel parts.

Clean enamelled, varnished, or chrome parts with warm soapy water or a non-caustic detergent. Use an appropriate cleaner for stainless steel.

Burners can be cleaned with soapy water. Use a household stainless steel cleaner for shine. Dry and replace burners correctly.

Chromed grids and burners may discolour with use, but this does not affect functionality.
