Ensure you have the following accessories:
- Indoor FM antenna
- AM loop antenna
- Speaker cable labels
- Remote controller and two batteries (AA/R6)
- Power cord (Taiwanese models)
- Speaker setup microphone
The AV receiver can automatically perform speaker and surround settings, so that you can easily enjoy a surround sound tailored to your listening environment. Connect the supplied microphone to the AV receiver and follow the on-screen instructions.
When performing automatic speaker setup, connect your TV to the AV receiver and make the room as quiet as possible.
Note: Before connecting the power cord, connect all of your speakers and AV components.
1. Connecting Your Speakers
Connect speakers according to the following configurations:
- Front speakers
- Center speaker
- Surround speakers
- Subwoofer(s)
- Surround back speakers
- Front high speakers
Speaker Configuration:
- 5.1-channel: Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Subwoofer
- 7.1-channel: Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Surround Back L/R, Subwoofer
- 7.1-channel: Front L/R, Front High L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Subwoofer
2. Connecting Your Components
Connecting Components with HDMI
Connect components like Blu-ray Disc/DVD players, personal computers, satellite/cable set-top boxes, game consoles, and camcorders using HDMI cables. Ensure "HDMI CEC (RIHD)" is enabled in the setup menu.
Connecting Components without HDMI
Connect components using other available video and audio inputs.
Listening to TV audio (Optional)
Connect your TV to the AV receiver using an HDMI cable. If your TV supports Audio Return Channel, both audio/video signals from the AV receiver and audio output from the TV can be carried bidirectionally on a single HDMI cable.
Video upconversion to HDMI
If you've connected your TV to the AV receiver with an HDMI cable, composite video and component video sources can be upconverted and output by the HDMI OUT MAIN. For this to work, the source output must be set to 480i/576i. If a signal with a resolution of 480p/576p or higher is input, an error message will be displayed.
Connecting to the Network (Optional)
Connect the AV receiver to your home network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. The diagram shows a typical connection to a router. For wireless LAN setup, refer to section 4.
3. Turning On & Initial Setup
Initial Setup starts automatically upon first-time use. Follow the on-screen guidance displayed on your TV. If you need to perform setup later, select 'No' and press ENTER on the remote controller after selecting the language.
Using the Setup User Interface
Connect the AV receiver to your TV with HDMI to access the setup menu on your TV screen. Select the input to which the AV receiver is connected.
Setup Menu (Home Menu)
The Setup menu provides access to advanced settings.
- Use the directional buttons (▲/▼/◀/▶) and ENTER to navigate and confirm selections.
- Press RETURN to go back to the previous screen.
- Press HOME to close the setup screen.
Quick Setup
Quick Setup offers quick access to frequently used settings, allowing you to change settings and view current information.
- Input: Select input sources while viewing related information.
- Audio: Change audio settings like tone controls, subwoofer, and center channel levels.
- Information: View information about the currently selected input source.
- Listening Mode: Select from various listening modes.
Press SETUP to close the menu.
4. Performing Wireless LAN Setup
Enjoy Internet radio or DLNA files through your Wi-Fi network. You need to perform wireless LAN setup to connect the AV receiver to a wireless device like a router.
- Check your wireless LAN router: If your router has a WPS button, automatic setup is available. Otherwise, note the SSID and Password from the router's label for manual setup.
Setup Procedure:
- Connect the AV receiver to your TV with HDMI and display the setup screen.
- Use the remote controller to navigate. Press RECEIVER before using the remote.
- Display the "Wireless setup" menu on your TV. This can be done via Initial Setup or through the Setup Menu (Hardware Setup > Network > Network Connection > Wireless).
- Select the setting method: Automatic or Manual.
- Automatic setting: Follow on-screen instructions for WPS connection (e.g., "Push Button Configuration").
- Manual setting: Select "Search Wireless Network", choose your network's SSID, and enter the Password (WEP, WPA/WPA2).
- Confirm the connection. The Wi-Fi indicator will light up when connected successfully. If not, repeat the setup or try manual setting.
Enjoy Internet functions by selecting "Network Service" from the HOME menu.

5. Playback
Bluetooth Indicator and Remote Control Overview
Familiarize yourself with the Bluetooth indicator and the remote control buttons for playback.
Basic Playback Steps:
- Turn on the AV receiver.
- Select the input source.
- Start playback on the source component.
- Adjust the volume.
- Select a listening mode and enjoy!
Playing Audio from a Bluetooth-enabled Device:
Pair your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, digital music player) with the AV receiver to play music wirelessly.
- Pairing: Put the AV receiver into pairing mode by pressing the BLUETOOTH button. The Bluetooth indicator will flash. Establish pairing from your Bluetooth-enabled device, selecting the AV receiver's name when prompted. Enter "0000" if a password is required. The AV receiver can save up to ten pairing informations.
- Connecting: Once paired, the AV receiver's input will automatically switch to Bluetooth when you play music. Ensure the volume on your Bluetooth-enabled device is adequately set.

6. Getting to Know the AV receiver
Front Panel
An overview of the front panel controls and indicators for both North American/Taiwanese models and European/Australian/Asian models.
Remote Controller
A detailed layout of the remote controller, with numbered buttons corresponding to their functions:
- RECEIVER button: Selects the AV receiver mode for control.
- Input Selector buttons: Select various input sources (BD/DVD, CBL/SAT, GAME, etc.).
- Setup buttons: Access and adjust settings.
- Listening Mode buttons: Select desired audio modes.
- Volume controls: Adjust the master volume.
- Other buttons: Include MUTING, DISPLAY, HOME, RETURN, and more for comprehensive control.
Note: Default input assignments can be changed. Refer to the instruction manual for details.
7. Troubleshooting
Can't turn on the AV receiver.
Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet.
The AV receiver turns off unexpectedly.
The AV receiver may automatically enter standby mode if the Auto Standby feature is enabled.
There's no sound, or it's very quiet.
Verify that the correct digital source is selected. Ensure all audio connecting plugs are fully inserted.
There's no picture.
Make sure all video connecting plugs are pushed in all the way.
Resetting the AV receiver:
If issues persist, try resetting the AV receiver to its factory defaults. Turn the receiver on, then while holding down the CBL/SAT button, press the ON/STANDBY button. "Clear" will appear on the display, and the receiver will enter standby mode. Note that resetting will erase radio presets and custom settings.
