Speaker System Configuration
7.1 ch System
- 1, 2: Front Speakers
- 3: Center Speaker
- 4, 5: Surround Speakers
- 6: Powered Subwoofer
- 7, 8: Surround Back Speakers
Connection Diagram

Speaker Cable and Subwoofer Cable:
- a: Speaker cable
- b: Subwoofer cable
Speaker Connection Notes:
- Ensure exposed speaker wires do not touch the rear panel or each other to avoid activating the protection circuit.
- Connect speakers with impedance between 4 Ω and 16 Ω. If using speakers with 4 Ω to less than 6 Ω impedance, adjust the 'Speaker Impedance' setting to '4ohms' in the setup menu after initial setup.
- Speaker placement angles: *1: 22° to 30°, *2: 90° to 110°, *3: 135° to 150°.
Rear Panel Connections
The rear panel of the TX-RZ630 features various input and output terminals:
- Digital Inputs: OPTICAL, COAXIAL
- Analog Audio Inputs: PHONO, CD, TV, GAME, TUNER, AM
- Video Inputs: COMPONENT VIDEO IN (BD/DVD, GAME), VIDEO IN (BD/DVD, GAME)
- HDMI Inputs: Multiple HDMI IN ports, including those supporting 4K HDR/HDCP 2.2
- HDMI Outputs: HDMI OUT (MAIN, ZONE 2), supporting 4K HDR/HDCP 2.2
- Other Connections: RS232, IR IN, 12V TRIGGER OUT, GND, ETHERNET, USB
- Speaker Outputs: Terminals for FRONT, CENTER, SURROUND, SURROUND BACK, HEIGHT 1, HEIGHT 2, ZONE 2, BI-AMP.
- Pre Outs: SUBWOOFER PRE OUT, ZONE 2 PRE/LINE OUT
Connecting to TV
- ARC TV: Connect using an HDMI cable (c) to the HDMI OUT (ARC) port on the receiver and the ARC-compatible HDMI IN port on the TV.
- Non-ARC TV: Connect using an HDMI cable (c) to an HDMI IN port on the receiver and the TV. Additionally, connect a digital optical cable (d) from the OPTICAL OUT on the receiver to the TV's optical input.
- Ensure HDMI CEC and HDMI Standby Through functions are enabled in the setup menu for ARC functionality.
Network Connection
Connect to the network using a LAN cable plugged into the ETHERNET port.
Remote Control Tips
To troubleshoot the remote control, ensure it is set to control the main room. Hold down the MODE button and press MAIN until the remote indicator flashes once.
2. Initial Setup with Auto Start-up Wizard

Setup Process
Follow the on-screen guidance displayed on the TV to complete the initial setup. This includes configuring inputs and speaker settings.
Input Configuration
Assign inputs to devices such as TV, HDMI 1-3, BD/DVD, CBL/SAT, STRMBOX, PC, CD.
Speaker Setup
Configure speaker settings, including the number of speakers (e.g., 7.1 ch), subwoofer presence, height speakers, zone speakers, and bi-amp settings.
Redoing Initial Setup
To redo the initial setup, navigate to "7. Miscellaneous" > "4. Initial Setup" in the receiver's menu.
