Introduction
The H5 is NovaStar's newest generation of video wall splicer, featuring excellent image quality and designed especially for fine-pitch LED screens. The H5 can function as splicing processors that integrate both video processing and video control capabilities, or as pure splicing processors. The unit features a modular and plug-in design, allowing for flexible configuration and hot swapping of input and output cards. Its excellent features and stable performance make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including energy and power, judicial departments, military command, water conservancy, meteorologic earthquake prediction, enterprise management, metallurgy, banking, national defense, public security traffic management, exhibitions, production scheduling, radio and television, educational and scientific research, and stage rental applications.
Based on a powerful hardware FPGA system architecture with a modular and plug-in design, the H5 offers a stable and highly efficient pure hardware architecture. It provides various connector modules for flexible and personalized configuration, ensuring easy maintenance and a low failure rate. The H5 supports industry-standard input connectors such as HDMI, DVI, DP, VGA, CVBS, SDI, and IP. It handles 10-bit video source input and processing, along with 4K high-definition inputs and outputs. The H5 also offers two types of LED 4K sending cards, enabling backup between OPT ports and Ethernet ports for ultra-long distance transmission. Additionally, the H5 supports multi-screen and multi-layer management, input and output EDID management and monitoring, input source renaming, BKG and OSD settings, providing a rich image construction experience.
The H5 utilizes a B/S architecture, supporting cross-platform, cross-system access and control without requiring application program installation. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux platforms, allowing for online collaboration of multiple users with fast Web page response speeds, significantly improving on-site setup efficiency. The H5 also supports online firmware updates for easy hardware updates via a PC.

Appearance
Front Panel
The H5 features a front panel with a touchscreen LCD display for menus, submenus, messages, device status, and monitoring information, allowing for fingertip operation. The product is designed for horizontal placement only and should not be mounted vertically or upside-down. It can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack, requiring at least four times the equipment's weight capacity. Eight M5 screws are recommended for securing the product.

Input Cards
H_4xDVI input card
Supports single link and dual link input modes, and 10-bit input source. HDCP 1.4 compliant. Does not support interlaced signal input.
- Single link mode: Uses four DVI connectors for input. Each connector supports a maximum resolution of 2048×1152@60Hz and a minimum resolution of 800×600@60Hz. Custom resolutions include a maximum width of 2560 pixels (2560×972@60Hz) and a maximum height of 2560 pixels (884×2560@60Hz).
- Dual link mode: Connectors 2 and 4 are used for input; connectors 1 and 3 are unavailable. Each connector supports a maximum resolution of 3840×1080@60Hz and a minimum resolution of 800×600@60Hz. Custom resolutions include a maximum width of 3840 pixels (3840×1124@60Hz) and a maximum height of 4095 pixels (1014×4095@60Hz).

H_4xHDMI input card

Only one connector can be used at a time. The selection is made via the Web page; the default is the HDMI 2.0 connector. Does not support interlaced signal input.
- 1x HDMI 2.0: Backward compatible with HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 1.3. Supports a maximum resolution of 3840×2160@60Hz. HDCP 2.2 compliant. Custom resolutions: Max. width: 4092 pixels (4092×2261@60Hz); Max. height: 4095 pixels (2188×4095@60Hz).
- 1x DP 1.2: Backward compatible with DP 1.1. Supports a maximum resolution of 4096×2160@60Hz or 8192×1080@60Hz. HDCP 2.2 compliant. Custom resolutions: Max. width: 8192 pixels (8192×1146@60Hz); Max. height: 4095 pixels (2188×4095@60Hz).

2xRJ45 IP input card
Provides 2x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Supports interlaced signal input.

H_4x3G SDI input card
Provides 4x 3G-SDI inputs. Backward compatible with HD-SDI and SD-SDI. Supports ST-424 (3G), ST-292 (HD), and SMPTE 259 SD. Each connector supports a maximum resolution of 1920×1080@60Hz. Supports 1080i/576i/480i de-interlacing processing.

H_STD I/O card
Includes 2x COM ports, 1x ETHERNET port, 3x I/O ports, 3x RELAY OUT, and 3x IR OUT.
- 2x COM: Programmable RS422/RS485/RS232 ports for controlling devices using these protocols. Pin configurations are detailed.
- 1x ETHERNET: 10/100Mbps self-adaptive Ethernet port for device control, supporting TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols.
- 3x I/O: Programmable input/output ports for triggering functions. Pins 1, 2, and 3 can be set as input or output, with pin G as the common ground.
- 3x RELAY OUT: Connects to relays for controlling power on/off of connected devices (30 VDC, 3A max). Six pins divided into three groups for connection/disconnection via programming.
- 3x IR OUT: Programmable infrared control. Pins 1, 2, and 3 are for infrared emission, with pin G as the common ground.
H_1x12G SDI input card
Provides 1x 12G-SDI IN and 1x 12G-SDI LOOP. Backward compatible with 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI. Supports ST-2082-1 (12G), ST-2081-1 (6G), ST-424 (3G), ST-292 (HD), and SMPTE 259 SD. Each connector supports a maximum resolution of 4096×2160@60Hz. Supports 1080i/576i/480i de-interlacing processing. Does not support input resolution and bit depth settings. The LOOP port outputs the 12G-SDI signal.

Output Card
H_16xRJ45+2xfiber sending card
This LED 4K sending card can load up to 10,400,000 pixels (max. width: 10,240 pixels, max. height: 10,240 pixels). This card occupies two slots.
- 16x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet outputs: Supports 8-bit and 10-bit depth. A single Ethernet port supports up to 650,000 pixels (8-bit) or 320,000 pixels (10-bit). Features backup between Ethernet ports.
- 2x OPT outputs: Supports both SMF and MMF transmission. OPT 1 copies and outputs data on Ethernet ports 1-8. OPT 2 copies and outputs data on Ethernet ports 9-16.
H_20xRJ45 sending card
This LED 4K sending card can load up to 13,000,000 pixels (max. width: 10,752 pixels, max. height: 10,752 pixels). This card occupies two slots.
- 20x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet outputs: Supports 8-bit and 10-bit depth. A single Ethernet port supports up to 650,000 pixels (8-bit) or 320,000 pixels (10-bit). Features backup between Ethernet ports.
H_2xRJ45+1xHDMI1.3 MVR preview card
- 2x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet outputs: Connect to the network for monitoring inputs and outputs.
- 1x HDMI 1.3: Connect to a monitor for displaying monitoring information.
H_Control Card
- GENLOCK: Supports bi-level and tri-level. IN: Accepts Genlock signal. LOOP: Loops the Genlock signal.
- ETHERNET: A Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting to a control PC, router, switch, or PC for Web control and NovaLCT screen configuration.
- USB 1 & USB 2: 2x USB 2.0 ports for updating device programs and importing/exporting configuration parameters. Note: USB connectors do not provide power to connected devices.
- COM: A serial port adopting RS232 protocol for central control systems. IN: Accepts signal from the central control system. OUT: Loops the signal.

Notes For Battery

Notes for Installation
- When installing the product on a rack, use at least 8 M5*8 screws. The rack must support at least four times the total weight of the mounted equipment.
- A. Elevated Operating Ambient: If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating ambient temperature may exceed the room ambient temperature. Consider installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the manufacturer's specified maximum ambient temperature (Tma).
- B. Reduced Air Flow: Ensure rack installation allows adequate airflow for safe operation.
- C. Mechanical Loading: Mount the equipment in the rack to avoid hazardous conditions due to uneven mechanical loading.
