Extend WiFi Range
WIFI signal strength can decrease through obstacles. Here are methods to extend range:
- Position The Antenna Correctly: Ensure NVR antennas are pointed straight up. Camera antennas should be parallel or overlap with the NVR's WIFI range for optimal signal. A diagram illustrates correct and fault antenna positioning.
- Use Antenna Extension Cord: To prolong WIFI distance, especially through walls. Remove the original antenna and attach an extension cord. Drill a hole to route the cord to an area with a stronger signal.
- Cascading Connection: Set up cascading connections for reasonable solutions to extend signal transfer distance.
Note: Repeater function does not strengthen WIFI signal for the NVR kit itself but extends the range for wireless NVR cameras. Correct positioning of repeater cameras is crucial for extending WIFI range. Users can choose between repeater function and antenna extension cords based on their situation.
Repeater Setup
- Right-click the NVR mouse, select 'Video Manage', then click 'Repeater'.
- Add repeater: Click the '+' icon next to a channel and choose another channel.
- The diagram shows IPC1 connected via IPC2 and IPC3, and IPC2 via IPC3, with IPC3 directly connected to the NVR.
