ASUS F550 HDD/RAM Cover Removal

This guide provides instructions for removing the hard drive (HDD) and RAM cover from an ASUS F550 laptop.

Tools Required

Essential Electronics Toolkit (1)

Step 1: Prepare for Removal

The underside of the ASUS F550 laptop is shown. The first step involves preparing the device for disassembly.

Procedure:

Remove the battery, using release clips.
Ensure the device has no residual power by attempting to boot it once the battery is removed.
Remove either 2 (or 4 for a full teardown) 12mm Phillips screws. These screws secure the bottom cover.
After removing the screws, carefully remove the bottom cover to gain access to the HDD and RAM components.
Remove the HDD and RAM cover.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
