Preparation
You will need:
- A smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth 4.2 or later.
- The latest version of the SwitchBot app, downloadable via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- A SwitchBot account. You can register via the app or sign in directly if you already have one.
- A fully charged SwitchBot Curtain.
Note: If you intend to use Cloud Services for voice control, you will need a SwitchBot Hub Mini (sold separately).
App Stores:
- Download on the App Store (iOS 11.0+)
- GET IT ON Google Play (Android OS 5.0+)
Installation
Step 1: Add your Curtain to the SwitchBot app
Open the SwitchBot app and sign in to your account. Tap '+' at the top right of the home page, find the Curtain icon and select it, then follow the instructions to add your Curtain.
Step 2: Install your Curtain on curtain track
Find the best matching Hook Wheel
One set of Hook Wheels is already installed on the Hook Pair. The box contains several different-sized sets of Hook Wheels for replacement. Follow the steps below to find the best matching set for your curtain track.
- Insert the separate Hook from the bottom gap of your curtain track and rotate it by 90° to fit the Hook Wheels on the track. Slide it left and right to check for smooth movement, then tilt it back and forth to ensure it matches the track.
- If the Hook cannot be inserted or rotated, replace with a smaller set of Hook Wheels.
- If the Hook falls easily when tilted, replace with a bigger set of Hook Wheels.
- If the Hook slides smoothly, continue with the installation. If no set of Hook Wheels works, contact customer support at support@wondertechlabs.com.
Replacing the Hook Wheels
- Detach the existing Hook Wheels from the separate Hook (use the Hook Helper for easier removal).
- Select a Hook Wheel set of the appropriate size. Flick the two plastic wheels to both sides to expose the metal bar. Attach the Hook Wheels to the Hook as shown. You should hear a click when firmly attached.
- Repeat the steps to replace the Hook Wheels on the other Hook with the main unit.
Installation for Common Models
- Fully close your curtain, then remove the first curtain hook from the track.
- Insert the separate Hook from the bottom gap of your curtain track and rotate it by 90° to fit the Hook Wheels on the track.
- Insert the Hook with the main unit onto the curtain track. Then attach the separate Hook back to the main unit. The SwitchBot logo should face indoors.
- Hang your curtain back in place and hide the SwitchBot Curtain behind your fabric curtain.
Installation for Specific Models
If SwitchBot Curtain does not work smoothly on your curtain track, it may be a non-standard track. Below are two examples of non-standard curtain tracks. Scan the QR code or visit the following website for detailed solutions: support.switch-bot.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500012094841
Examples: Japan TOSO Elite, Taiwan Ti Rail
How to Control Double-Sided Curtains
For double-sided curtains, it is recommended to use two SwitchBot Curtains to open curtains from the middle.
If you have only one SwitchBot Curtain, you can use the provided clips to join your curtains and create a single-sided curtain.
Note: Using only one SwitchBot Curtain for a double-sided curtain may affect user experience.
Step 3: Calibration
After adding and installing your SwitchBot Curtain, you need to calibrate it to set its route on the curtain track. Follow the in-app instructions to ensure the curtain's movement matches the animation. You can recalibrate or change the opening direction anytime via Curtain > Settings > Calibration.
Note: You can group two SwitchBot Curtains in the app to open curtains from the middle. Before calibrating, ensure the positions of your SwitchBot Curtains match those shown in the app.
Usage Methods
App Control
Open and close your curtains with a single tap. The app offers intuitive control for iOS and Android users, with weekly/bi-weekly updates. OTA firmware updates are also available for improved user experience.
Touch & Go
When SwitchBot Curtain senses you drawing your curtain more than 5 cm, it will automatically start working. For a double-sided curtain, pull one side to activate it. This feature can be turned off in Advanced Settings.
*5cm lowers the possibility of false triggers by foreign objects, pets, children, etc.
Voice Control and Home Automation*
Link multiple third-party services to your SwitchBot account for voice control or scene triggering.
How to realize voice control and home automation:
- Connect your smartphone or tablet to the Internet.
- Set up a SwitchBot Hub Mini (sold separately).
- Enable Cloud Services via the SwitchBot Curtain's Settings page.
- Link third-party services to your SwitchBot account.
Example commands:
- Alexa, close the curtain.
- Hey Google, close my bedroom curtain.
- Hey Siri, open the living room curtain.
*Requires SwitchBot Hub Mini (sold separately).
Compatible services: Works with Alexa, Hey Google, Siri Shortcuts, IFTTT, LINE CLOVA, SmartThings.
Control with SwitchBot Remote (Sold Separately)
A wireless remote to place anywhere.
Control your SwitchBot Curtain with a SwitchBot Remote. The remote has two buttons, each configurable via the app for actions like fully opening or closing your curtain. One remote can control up to 2 grouped SwitchBot Curtains. Refer to the SwitchBot Remote user manual for more information.
Settings

Charging, Firmware Upgrades, and Resetting Factory Settings
Charging
It takes approximately 6.5 hours to fully charge the device, providing up to 8 months of battery life. A SwitchBot Solar Panel can be purchased for sunlight charging.
- A 5V-1A adapter is required for charging.
- Battery life is tested under conditions of opening and closing an 8 kg (17 lbs) curtain on a 3-meter track once daily at 25°C. Actual battery life may vary.
- Charging with the Solar Panel requires a minimum illuminance level of 6.
Firmware Upgrades
Regular firmware updates are released to introduce new functions and fix software defects. An upgrade notification will be sent via the app when a new version is available. Ensure sufficient battery and proximity to your smartphone during upgrades to prevent interference.
Resetting Factory Settings
Press and hold the Reset button for 15 seconds until the indicator light illuminates, then release the button.
Caution: Factory reset will erase all previous settings. You will need to re-add the device and recalibrate it. For double-sided curtains, recalibrate both units.
