Usage Tips
Set the "Fully open" position manually
If your solar panel is hidden behind the wall when your curtains are fully open, we recommend using Custom Calibration to set the "Fully open" position, ensuring your solar panel is exposed.

Auto-charging
Use the SwitchBot app to optimize charging:
- Open the SwitchBot app, go to Curtain > Light Sensor to view the light data.
- Find the periods with higher light levels according to the data chart or your window's orientation.
- Navigate to Auto-charging and set a charging position and charging period accordingly.

Optimize the Sunlight
Adjust your solar panel's angle to maximize sunlight exposure.
Tip: According to your window's orientation or the light sensor data, find the period within a day when there is most sunlight. Calculate the sunlight angle in this period based on your latitude, and adjust your solar panel's angle to make it perpendicular to the sunlight.

Adjust the Hanging Rod Flexibly
If your solar panel can be obstructed by window frames when the hanging rod is fully stretched, press the side button to fold the first joint.
Turn your solar panel around so the dark blue side faces outwards. Then, connect your solar panel to your SwitchBot Curtain via the Type-C charging port at the bottom.

Removing from Your SwitchBot Curtain
- Pinch the connector and pull to remove your solar panel from SwitchBot Curtain.
- While pressing the side button, rotate the hanging rod to fold it. Then put your solar panel at an appropriate place.

Usage Conditions
For optimal performance, ensure the following:
- Windows that can receive direct sunlight.
- The distance from the curtain track bottom to the sunlight area is less than 50 cm (approx. 1.6 feet).
- The sunlight received should be intense enough to cast a clear shadow of objects indoors.
Diagram illustrating the 50cm distance requirement between the curtain track bottom and the sunlight area.
Direct sunlight will optimize your solar panel efficiency. With only 3 hours under direct sunlight on a daily basis, your solar panel can power SwitchBot Curtain forever. *
*Data is obtained from lab experiment: on a 3-meter-long track, SwitchBot Curtain pushes a 8 kg curtain to open and close once a day.

Please Note
The Solar Panel can charge your SwitchBot Curtain even on cloudy or rainy days, but with reduced efficiency. Your Curtain's batteries will assist during poor weather. However, if your solar panel consistently faces these conditions, it might not generate enough energy to power your Curtain indefinitely:
- Windows facing shaded directions.
- Windows with shade roofs.
- Tinted or coated windows.
