INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Item#3995-66A/3995-84 (Chandelier For Rod Hang)
⚠️ WARNING! SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER.
AVERTISSEMENT! COUPER LE COURANT AU NIVEAU DES FUSIBLES OU DU DISJONCTEUR.
PREPARATION (Figure 1)
- Shut off power at the fuse box or circuit breaker box and remove the old fixture, including the mounting hardware.
- Carefully unpack the new fixture and lay out all parts in a clean area. Take care not to misplace any small parts necessary for installation.
ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE (Figure 1)
Note: To install the fixture as an upward option, follow step 3. If not, proceed to step 4.
- Un-thread metal part (U) on top of center bar (T). Remove decorative finial (S), nut (R), and metal washer (Q) on the bottom of center bar (T). Carefully pull out wires and connectors from center bar (T). Loosen wires by removing wire connectors; twist wires as one strand. Carefully put the strand through center bar (T), and do not twist with other wires inside center bar (T). Turnover the fixture body (L) with sockets facing upward. Re-connect wires, tuck wires and connectors neatly into center bar (T). Secure metal part (U), metal washer (Q), nut (R), and finial (S) back into center bar (T). (Figure 1)
- Place cap (K) on the threaded end of fixture body (L) and secure with coupling (J).
- Determine the desired hanging height and thread rods (I and H) to the threaded ends of fixture body (L). Pass wires carefully through each rod as you assemble.
- Thread loop (G1) onto rod (H). Attach quick link (P) to loop (G1) and loop (G). Carefully feed wires through loop (G1), quick link (P), and loop (G). Note: The quick link (P) must be fully closed.
- Thread mounting screws (D) into the pre-drilled holes in mounting plate (A), spaced the same distance apart as the holes in canopy (C). The length of mounting screws (D) may be adjusted if necessary. Attach mounting plate (A) to the junction box (not included) using junction box screws (B). The side of mounting plate marked "GND" must face out.
Figure 1 Description: This figure illustrates the overall assembly of the chandelier. It shows the mounting plate (A) with pre-drilled holes, to which junction box screws (B) and mounting screws (D) are attached. The canopy (C) covers the mounting plate. The fixture body (L) is shown with sockets, and shades (M) are attached to the sockets using socket rings (N). Rods (H, I) of different lengths are threaded to the fixture body (L) and to each other to achieve the desired hanging height. Wires pass through these rods. A loop (G1) attaches to a rod (H) via a quick link (P), connecting to the main hanging loop (G). Other parts shown include the center bar (T, U), finials (S, F), nut (R), and washer (Q).
CONNECTING THE WIRES (Figure 2)
- Connect the electrical wires as shown in Figure 2, ensuring all wire connectors are secured. If your junction box has a ground wire (green or bare copper), connect the fixture's ground wire to it. Otherwise, connect the fixture's ground wire directly to the mounting plate (A) using the green screw provided.
- Tuck wire connectors neatly into the junction box.
Figure 2 Description: This figure details the electrical connections required for installation. It shows the fixture wires, typically identified as Black or Smooth (hot), White or Ribbed (neutral), and Bare Copper (Ground), being connected to the corresponding house wires: Black (Hot), White (Neutral), and Green (Ground). Wire connectors are used to secure these connections. The fixture's ground wire is also shown connected to the green ground screw (E) on the mounting plate (A).
COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION (Figure 1)
- Place canopy (C) over mounting plate (A) and secure with two finials (F) onto mounting screws (D).
- Remove socket rings (N) from sockets and place glasses (M) over sockets, securing them with socket rings (N).
- Install five medium base bulbs (O), up to 60 watts each, or CFL or LED equivalent (not included), in accordance with the fixture specification. DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING! (NE PAS DEPASSER LA PUISSANCE NOMINALE MAXIMALE!)
Your installation is now complete. Return power to the junction box and test the fixture.
Note: Illustration (Figure 1) in this manual is for installation purposes only. It may or may not be identical to the fixture purchased.
IMPORTANT: FIXTURE SHOULD BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN TO ENSURE PROPER WIRING AND INSTALLATION.
