Installation Instructions
Item# 2430-84/878 (New. 08/27/2021)
WARNING! SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER. (AVERTISSEMENT! COUPER LE COURANT AU NIVEAU DES FUSIBLES OU DU DISJONCTEUR.)
Mounting the Fixture
Refer to Figure 1 for component identification and assembly.
- Shut off power at the fuse box or circuit breaker and remove the old fixture, including its mounting hardware.
- Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all parts on a clean area. Ensure no small parts are lost.
- Thread screws (B) into the pre-drilled holes in the circular strap (G). Space them the same distance apart as the holes in the canopy (J). Tighten with nuts (E). The length of screws (B) can be adjusted if necessary.
- Attach the circular strap (G) to the junction box (not included) using mounting screws (D). The side of the circular strap marked "GND" must face outwards.
- Determine the desired hanging height. Thread rods (M2 and M1) onto the fixture's body threads. Screw the loop (K1) onto rod (M1). Pass wires carefully through each rod as you assemble.
- Attach the quick link (L) to loop (K1) and loop (K2) on the canopy (J). Carefully feed wires through loop (K1), quick link (L), and loop (K2).
Figure 1 Description: This diagram shows an exploded view of the pendant light fixture. It displays components such as the circular mounting strap (G), screws (B, D), nuts (E), threaded rods (M1, M2) of different lengths, a central loop (K1), a quick link (L), the canopy (J), a socket cup (H), a glass shade (I), and a metal ring (F). The illustration demonstrates how these parts connect to form the hanging structure of the light fixture.
Connecting the Wires
Refer to Figure 2 for wiring connections.
- Connect the electrical wires as shown in Figure 2, ensuring all wire connectors (C) are securely fastened.
- If your junction box has a ground wire (green or bare copper), connect the fixture's ground wire to it.
- If no house ground wire is present, connect the fixture's ground wire directly to the circular strap (G) using the provided green screw.
- Tuck wire connectors neatly into the junction box.
Figure 2 Description: This diagram illustrates the electrical wiring process. It shows three sets of wires: the fixture's wires (identified as black or smooth, white or ribbed, and green or bare copper for ground) and the house wires (identified as black for hot, white for neutral, and green for ground). The diagram shows how to connect the corresponding wires using wire connectors (C).
Finishing the Installation
- Place the canopy (J) onto screws (B) and secure it with finials (A).
- Unscrew the metal ring (F) and place the glass shade (I) onto the socket cup (H). Secure the glass shade (I) with the metal ring (F).
- Install one medium base (E26) bulb. Use a bulb up to 60 watts, or a CFL or LED equivalent. Ensure the bulb wattage does not exceed the fixture's maximum wattage rating. (DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING! NE PAS DEPASSER LA PUISSANCE NOMINALE MAXIMALE!).
Completion
Your installation is now complete. Return power to the junction box and test the fixture.
Note: The illustrations in this manual are for installation guidance purposes only and may not be identical to the specific fixture purchased.
