Maxwest NEO 4G User Manual
This manual provides instructions for operating the Maxwest NEO 4G mobile phone.
Device Layout
The Maxwest NEO 4G features the following buttons and keys:
- Left Soft Key: Press to select menu options in the Home Screen.
- Confirm/SOS Button: Press to confirm commands. Long press in Home Screen for SOS.
- Call Button: Press to make a call or answer an incoming call.
- Voicemail Button: Long press in Home Screen to access voicemail.
- Lock/Unlock Button: Long press in Home Screen to lock the device.
- Right Soft Key: Press to select the Contacts option in the Home Screen.
- Power/Cancel Button: Long press to power on/off. Press to cancel commands.
- Navigation Button: Navigate through the device menus by pressing up, down, right, or left. Long press to change audio profiles.

Changing Audio Profiles
Audio profiles allow you to adjust volume levels. Access this via Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Profiles. Available profiles include General, Silent, Meeting, Indoor, and Outdoor. You can customize ringtones, volume levels, and ring types within these settings.
Basic Operations
Turning the Device ON or OFF
Long press the Power Button. Enter your unlock PIN if prompted. To unlock, press the Left Soft Key, then the Star key (*).
Making or Answering a Call
From the Home Screen, enter the number and press the Call Button. To answer an incoming call, press the Call Button. To reject, press the Cancel Button.
Calling Options
During a call, press the Confirmation Button (SOS) for speaker mode. Use the Navigation Button to adjust volume. Press the Cancel Button to end the call. Additional options like adding a call, placing on hold, recording, muting, and accessing contacts are available via the Menu (Left Soft Key).
Messaging
Sending Text/Multimedia Messages
Navigate to Menu > Message. Select 'Write message'. Choose SMS for text or MMS for multimedia. Enter the recipient's phone number. For SMS, type your message and select Options > Send. For MMS, include subject, text, image, video, or audio, then select Options > Send.
Viewing Messages
Access received messages via Inbox, unsent messages via Draft, and sent messages via Sentbox.
Display Settings
Customize your wallpaper, brightness, screen timeout, keypad lock time, and screensaver. Access via Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Display Settings.
Contact Menu
Save, edit, import, and export contacts via Home Screen > Contacts. To add a new contact, select Options > New, then fill in the details and Save. Speed dial can be set up via Options > Others > Speed dial. Contacts can be imported/exported in CVF format.
Browser Menu
Navigate the web via Home Screen > Menu > Internet. Enter a URL to search or use bookmarks for faster access to frequently visited sites like Facebook.
Setting up Network Account
Configure GPRS settings by going to Options > Settings > SIM1/2 Network accounts and selecting your carrier.
Typing with Keyboard
The device uses a T9 keyboard. Each number key corresponds to letters (e.g., 2=ABC, 3=DEF). Press a key multiple times to cycle through letters. Use the '0' key for space and '#' key to switch between letter cases, numbers, or symbols. The '*' key accesses symbols.
Example for typing 'World': W (9, once), o (6, three times), r (7, three times), l (5, three times), d (3, once).
To input numbers in text, press '#' then '123'.
Phone Settings
Access Phone Settings via Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Phone Settings.
- Date & Time: Set time, date, and formats.
- Language Settings: Change the device language (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese).
- Shortcut Settings: Customize home screen shortcuts.
- Auto power on/off: Schedule automatic power on/off times.
- Power Management: View battery percentage.
- Restore factory: Erase all data (password: 0000).
SOS Settings
The SOS feature allows you to set up five emergency numbers. When activated, the device sends a text message and calls these numbers in order. Ensure your device has active service for this to function. SOS can be turned on/off via the SOS settings menu. To activate, long press the SOS button.
FCC Compliance and SAR Information
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to conditions that prevent harmful interference. The device has been tested and meets FCC limits for Class B digital devices. SAR tests are conducted at the highest certified power level, but actual operating SAR may be lower. For body-worn operation, maintain a minimum distance of 5mm from the body when using approved accessories or accessories without metal.
