Important Information
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (e.g., dim display), the battery needs to be replaced. Contact an authorized CASIO service center or a CASIO distributor for replacement.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, it is forbidden to:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Move the hands underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely. Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by rating (I to V) according to their water resistance. Check your watch's rating using the table below to determine its proper use.
Rating | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Washing | Diving | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Note: Rating I watches are not protected from water. Avoid any moisture.
Explanation of Water Resistance Ratings:
- II WR (Water Resistant): Means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- III Water resistance to 5 Bar (50 meters): The watch can withstand the specified water pressure and can be used while showering and for brief swimming.
- IV Water resistance to 10 Bar (100 meters): The watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- V Water resistance to 20 Bar (200 meters): The watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Watch Care
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although the watch is designed for active daily use, wear it carefully and avoid drops.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- For cleaning the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a solution of mild neutral detergent. Never use volatile agents (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.).
- When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials will damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's polish.
- Some watch models feature silk-screened images on their straps. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging the designs.
For watches with plastic straps:
- You may find a whitish powdery substance on the strap. This substance is not harmful to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of the plastic strap to sweat or moisture, or storing it in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking of the strap. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other wet surface can cause the fluorescent color to fade. Check if moisture has been removed from the fluorescent surface and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface can transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
When using the product in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation on the inside of the glass is permissible. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the use of this watch, and does not accept any claims from third parties.
