The microscope stand (B) includes:
- 11: Microscope base
- (The stand structure, rail, and holder are part of this assembly)
The extension piece (C) includes:
- 10: Extension piece
- 12: Objective
¹Function not available for this model.
Scope of delivery: Digital microscope (A) with USB cable, microscope stand with running rail and holder (B), extension piece (C).
9 Assembling the Microscope
This microscope is designed for operation with a Windows PC. For assembly, proceed as follows:
- Screw the running rail with the preassembled microscope holder into the holding thread. Ensure the holder faces forward as shown.
- NOTICE! For higher observation objects, the supplied extension piece can first be screwed into the mounting thread. The rail is then screwed into the extension piece. This will significantly increase the working height.
- Loosen the fixing screw on the holder and unscrew it slightly so it does not block the retaining ring.
- Insert the microscope head into the holder and hand-tighten the fixing screw.
10 Power Supply
Plug the USB-A connector of the USB cable into a free USB port of the PC. Power is supplied through the computer after it has been switched on. The LED ring lighting will illuminate.
11 Connecting to a PC
Use of this digital microscope requires a connection via USB to a PC running the Windows 10 operating system. Follow the steps below for proper connection:
- Download and install the CamLabLite* software on the PC.
- Mount the digital camera as described.
- Insert the USB-A plug of the USB connection cable into a free USB port of the PC. If the connection is successful, the LED lights up. The digital microscope is ready for use.
- The CamLabLite* software can be used to view and save images from the digital microscope. Various image optimizations can also be made. Please also read the separate software instructions.
*Information about downloading the software and software instructions can be found on page 2 of this manual.
12 Adjusting the Lighting
The digital microscope is equipped with an LED ring lighting for optimal object illumination, which can be dimmed continuously.
- Connect the digital microscope to the PC.
- Once the LED lighting is on, the brightness can be adjusted continuously by turning the dimmer wheel on the USB cable.
13 Adjusting the Height of the Head
Depending on the size of the observation object or when changing the magnification setting, the position of the microscope head must be adjusted in height. Proceed as follows:
- Hold the microscope head and loosen the locking screw for the holder.
- Turn the height adjustment wheel to move the microscope head up or down in the holder.
- Hand-tighten the locking screw when the desired height position is reached.
NOTICE! Especially when changing the zoom range, it may be necessary to additionally change the position of the digital microscope in the holder (see also "Focusing the object").
14 Adjusting the Zoom
The microscope optics have a zoom range from 10x to 280x. The zoom range can be changed by turning the zoom ring. The corresponding digit on the scale must be visible above the marking arrow.
NOTICE! When changing the zoom range, the focus may also need to be adjusted (see also "Focusing the object").
15 Focusing the Object
For optimal image sharpness, the observation object must be brought into the focus range of the digital camera. Proceed as follows:
- Depending on the object height, assemble the extension piece if necessary.
- Set the required head height for the digital microscope.
- Make the desired magnification setting.
- If necessary, correct the height and position of the digital microscope in the holder slightly until the image on the monitor appears sharp.
- WARNING! Always hold the digital microscope firmly when loosening the locking screw or the fixing screw on the holder to prevent the digital microscope from sliding down. The digital microscope could hit the microscope base and be irreparably damaged!
