ZigBee Smart Light Switch User Manual
Product Description
This newly designed smart switch, available with 1, 2, 3, or 4 gangs, utilizes the ZigBee protocol to replace traditional switches. It offers versatile control options and supports two wiring configurations: Neutral + Live (N+L) wire or Live (L) wire only. A ZigBee hub is required for normal operation. A new smart feature, multi-control association with other smart switches, is available via the Smart Life/Tuya App, allowing all control modes to function without interference. Its design is suitable for various decoration styles and offers excellent value.

Warnings
Before wiring, turn off the power at the circuit breaker and test to ensure power is off.
Installation
Ensure the power at the circuit breaker is off before proceeding with wiring.
Two versions are available: one requiring a Neutral wire and one that does not. Ensure you use the correct wiring according to the switch version purchased.
If your switch version requires a neutral wire, verify your wall box contains a Neutral Wire (typically white). If not, choose another location or consult a professional electrician.
Wire colors indicated in this manual are typical and may vary. Ensure wire conductors are securely fastened.
Before wiring, ensure your Wi-Fi signal is stable and your mobile device and Zigbee gateway hub are on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network.
If you lack wiring experience, consult a professional electrician.
Step 1: Power Off and Test
Turn off the circuit breaker. Use an electrical tester to confirm that the power is off at the switch location.
Step 2: Wiring
Remove the existing wall plate. Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker briefly and use an electrical tester to identify the line wire (the tester will flash and/or chirp near the line wire). Turn the power off again at the circuit breaker.
Pull the existing switch out. Label the line wire and other wires. Disconnect the wires from the existing switch using pliers.
Follow the wiring diagram to connect the switch wires to the wires in the wall box using wire connectors.
Wiring Diagram Description:
- L: Connects to the incoming Live wire.
- N: Connects to the Neutral wire (required for N+L version).
- L1, L2, L3, L4: Connect to the Load wires for each gang (e.g., L1 to Load 1).
- Load 1, Load 2, Load 3, Load 4: Connect to the respective lights/loads.
The diagram shows optional gangs (L1, L2, L3, L4) and corresponding loads.
Step 3: Mounting
Mount the switch securely using the provided screws. Snap the wall plate onto the switch.
Step 4: Power On and Test
Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. Test the switch to turn the light on and off.
Add Devices (Pairing with Smart Life App)
Preparation: Ensure the switch is connected to power, and your mobile device and Zigbee gateway hub are on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network. If you are connected to a 5GHz network, disconnect it and connect to the 2.4GHz network.
Step 1: Download Smart Life App
Scan the provided [QR Code] or search for "Smart Life" on your device's app store to download the application.
Step 2: Registration or Log In
Open the Smart Life application. Navigate to the Register/Login interface. Tap "Register" to create an account using your phone number to receive a verification code and set a password. If you already have an account, choose "Log in".
Step 3: Configure the App to the Switch (ZigBee Link Method)
Pairing and Clearing ZigBee Code: Press and hold the button on the switch for approximately 7 seconds. The blue indicator light on the switch will flash rapidly after 3 seconds, indicating successful pairing.
Adding the Device in the App:
- Open the Smart Life App. Select the "+" icon in the top right corner.
- Choose "Switch (Zigbee)" from the device list.
- Select the correct Zigbee gateway hub to confirm the connection.
- Confirm that the Zigbee switch's blue indicator is blinking rapidly (twice per second).
- The app will show a "Connecting" status. Ensure your router, mobile, and device are as close as possible. The connection process typically takes 10-120 seconds, depending on network conditions.
- Once pairing is complete, the Zigbee switch will appear in the "All Device" list in the app.
How to Reset/Repair ZigBee Code: Press and hold the button on the switch for approximately 7 seconds, until the blue indicator flashes rapidly after 3 seconds. Reset/Repair is successful.
Multi-Control Association (Only for N+L Wire)
Ensure you have successfully added the switch to your Smart Life App before proceeding with association.
This feature allows multiple switches to control the same light.
- Add another smart switch to the same Smart Life/Tuya App. If a smart switch is already added, proceed to the next step.
- Wiring Note:
- If your switch requires a neutral wire (N+L version), the newly added switch does not need to be wired to the light; only L and N connections are required for its power.
- If your switch does not require a neutral wire (L-only version), follow the wiring instructions to connect the L wire and the light.
- In the app, select the main switch (e.g., a single-gang switch) to enter its control interface.
- Tap the menu icon (usually in the upper right corner) and select "Multi-Control Association". Then, tap "+" in the right corner to add an association.
- Choose the switch you want to associate and then select the specific button on that switch that will control the same light.
- Return to the previous page. You will see both the main switch and the newly associated switch listed. Ensure the associated switch is enabled.
- You can now control the light using either switch. Do not associate another button on the same switch for multi-control.
- To add a third or more smart switches to control the same light, repeat the association steps.
Set Your Echo Speaker with Alexa App
Follow these steps to integrate your smart switch with Amazon Alexa.
- Ensure Smart Life app is installed. Open the Amazon Alexa App and log into your Alexa account.
- Tap the menu icon (top left) and select "Settings". Choose "Set up a new device" and select a device type like "Echo".
- Follow the on-screen prompts in the Alexa app. This typically involves pressing a button on your Echo device until its indicator light turns yellow, then proceeding with Wi-Fi connection.
- Wait a few minutes for the Echo to connect to Wi-Fi. After watching an introductory video, proceed to the home page.
- Enable Smart Life Skill in Alexa App:
- In the Alexa App, select "Skills" from the options bar.
- Search for "Smart Life" in the input box.
- Tap "Enable to Use" and log in using your Smart Life app username and password.
- Once the skill is enabled and linked, you can use your Alexa voice commands to control your smart devices.
Ensure your mobile phone is not running VPN software during this process.
